I trimmed the content of the quotes to save space but I'm replying to your last few posts. 1. A console generation is never defined by it's performance. Project Cafe is an 8th generation console whether you like it or not. Just as the Wii is a 7th generation console. Generations are denoted by the successor/predecessor relationship of flagship home and portable consoles grouped by a generalized release period. 2. 30x is a gross exaggeration of the increase in performance from generation to generation. Just because some of the computational power makes that kind of leap does not mean the overall processing performance does. 3. So long as Project Cafe utilizes modern shader operations and HD output resolutions, 3rd parties will support it with multiplatform software far more so than they did with Wii thanks to amortized costs of which Wii did not allow. 4. Your suggested perfomance capabilities of Project Cafe compared to PS3/X360 and the upcoming PS4/NextX are firstly incorrect (based on rumored componenets) and secondly wholly unknown (given we have no idea what plans Sony and MS have for their next consoles though conventional wisdom [not fanboy speculation] suggests a far more subdued technology jump compared to the jump from PS2 to PS3. |
As i said new effects kills the performance but that's the only way to turn graphics into number and to compare it.if you try compare it diffrent than basic computing performance than it will be irelevant.also i said that if Cafe will be as it's said in par up to twice of power of PS3.I do not think it will be smaller leap.technology goes forward and it will be more bigger leap than between ps2 and ps3 but of course to our eyes it won't be as that big.again it's like with cars.jumping from 200HP engine to 400HP feals much bigger than from 400HP to 800HP.
And as i said if Cafe will be so technologicaly inferior to PS4/X3 like Wii was to PS3/X360 than i don't think it will have very big support because Cafe will probably launch in Q2 2012 and we can expect other next gens maybe even in Q4 2012.and certianly MS and Sony console will once again have bigger audience combined. Also it's exclusives what really counts and for core gamers it Sony and MS have better cards on the table.also multiplatforms will definetly look better on PS4/X3 so Nintendo strategy is to capture casuals once again and it's difficult because they do not stick to one brand which showed jumps from SNES to PS and form PS2 to Wii.Also if Sony and MS go high end than also PC playrs will be minor factor because they will also be on par tehnologicaly with PS4/X3.So this is much bigger audience to make games than lone wanderer Cafe.Of course all i said will be unimportent if Cafe will launch with some kind of Nvidia GTX580 Ultra...
