Nintendo won't announce that TLS is coming to Europe at E3...

E3 takes place in the US.

They might announce a worldwide release but not Europe only.

Pretty much this. no matter how happy i'd be if it releases in europe, NOT DOING SO in Americas would be just daaamn stupid, and sounds way of reality, cuz theyd make much more money in  USA/CDN than in europe, and on top, localising it for europe means to translate it into many different languages.

How would they make more money? European sales are always roughly the same as NA sales.

LOL

Not at all. In Europe it probably won't even touch 80k lifetime.

America would guarantee at least 40k first week.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Go into VGChartz software sales and look at common JRPG's. They sell the same in both regions (apart from the odd game which is more popular in America).

And please...Stop with the "LOL"'s.

I want to defend Europe. But I know that this will most certainly be the case :/

How technical is your game?

I'll be attending the expo again tomorrow. If need be I'll do some snooping around.

Also have to take another crack at Xenoblade, wasn't crazy about the english VO, but I was really digging the battle system.

Any info by chance?...

Sorry guys, didn't get anything out of them. I was given the "What's The Last Story?" treatment :(

No problem... BTW, I was actually worried you got some info and nintendo´s ninjas kidnaped you until after E3 so you wont reveal anything...

Just look at the software sales for typical JRPG's, European sales either match or come very close to the American sales, what makes The Last Story any different?

I want The Last Story to come to ALL regions, but if it only comes to the EU then it isn't the end of the world. There have been plenty of games that come to NA only, I have been in that position many times, but I never demand that the game comes to my region as if I live at the centre of the world.

There's not too many of games to play on WII now, so with some dose of decent marketing from Nintendo of Europe it should sell well. Besides, even if the early sales will not be satisfactory, Europe tends to have better legs then rest of world. Just look at Valkyria Chronicles II in EMEAA - in it's 1st week is started terribly and now it's not so far from japanese sales.

Euggh, please don't talk about Nintendo advertisements, they are just paying B-list celebrities to pretend that they love Nintendo games. It's cheesy but at the same time it's infuriating to realise that people will fall for this advertising scheme.

If Nintendo want to advertise a hardcore game like The Last Story they are going to need to take a VERY different approach.

why can't they follow the advertising strategy they did for MH?  That seems to have worked.

Considering in TLS one can change their appearance via armour changes, I really hope they don't follow the precedent they set for DQIX (even though it resulted in very good sales and above NA's btw)

That has to be the worst thing I have ever seen. I'm going to go and drink some bleach now.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not on the Europe doesn't buy JRPG's bandwagon at all, but I do understand where SaviorX is coming from. Europe is almost never taken as seriously as America when it comes to distrubution of these kinds of games, we almost always get these games far later than the rest of the world, stealth released on a number of occasions, with minimal shipments and exposure, this is provided we even get the games in the first place.

I honestly don't expect Xenoblade to get any kind of proper backing from NoE, at least not on the scale of more recent high profile releases like Wii Party, Donkey Kong Country Returns or even Kirby's Epic Yarn, though I'd love to be proven wrong and forced to eat crow on that one. Similarly, if The Last Story is released internationally, I expect a reasonable push for the game in American regions and absolutely sod all for Europe besides posters on the side of game specialist stores with a high review score and quote plastered on them.

Europe is most certainly a viable market for these games, just as much as America, and it's time publishers realized this. Dragon Quest IX's performance was amazing, it's selling trend is akin to that of Nintendo's other evergreen titles, though to a lesser extent, of course. The game is still nearly full price at all outlets and continues to make respectable positions in the DS only chart here in the UK, long after its release. I refuse to believe though, that those atrocious jedward commercials are what put the game out there, it was positive word of mouth that did justice for the game, no doubt helped by successful tag mode gatherings across multiple european regions.
