I think Steam bet them to the punch as far as relaunching PC gaming goes.

I guess it's to get better Windows integration with the other devices (tablets, phones, 360) and full Kineck support.

I think they're going to offer an 'app store'. If thats true then Valves recent motions towards Sony etc may be possibly seen as self preservation.

Eh... I don't really see how a new OS can help... or how can they make 7 better, as it's already perfect.

Windows 7 is the best Windows EVER! period.

Well in that case, it does me no good, because I don't use tablets, have a piece of crap phone that only wishes it could have the name Windows involved with it, and don't own a 360.

This better come out before I get out of school and "4 free Windows licenses."

I thought they already tried it with GfWL and we all know how it turned out - not well. In fact, GfWL was more like an attempt to kill PC gaming. If Windows 8 is anything like GfWL has been at any point, including now, I think I'll skip Windows 8 and seriously consider switching over to Linux despite its flaws in gaming.
