Will MHP3 HD remake for PS3 outsell MH3 for Wii (in Japan)?

yes 152 51.70%

no 142 48.30%

Total:294

I do not think it will. It is a port of a handheld after all...

Monster Hunter Tri was a whole new game whereas MHP3 HD is a simple late port. It would be very odd to see the later outsell the former.

Tale of Grace F... Tale of Vespera... Samurai Musou 3.... sometime Japan is odd!

According to Vgchartz a little over a million (1.04), i dont know capcom's official shipped numbers

On march 31, 2010, Capcom shipped 1.15 million units. Probably a little over 1.2 million units shipped by now, I don't think they'll sell any more shipments in Japan.

With these numbers I don't think it will. But I find it hard to predict Japan after all.

MH3 was subscription based (after the first 30 days). If online is free, which i assume it will be given that it is the PSP version, then yes.

These remasters are going to be able to use ad-hock party so yes, but ad-hock party needs your PS3 directly connected to a router to work so, not sure how well it's gonna be used.

Yes it will.

It will easily sell over 1.5M

A million seller is a tough feat on any home console on any conditions in Japan at this point, and that's what they're up against. Granted PS3 seems to be a healthier environment for games of this type at this point, but then we have to factor in that these are basically remakes of games on a much more popular platform (PSP), and putting it on consoles will immediately void out the greater appeal the handheld franchise has of local multiplayer, unless they implement splitscreen (so factored into Japanese consumer values, this is likely a more expensive remake that is inferior in the respects they most care for)

It's possible, but i would put likelihood at low.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well, the Wii version has likely sold around 1.1mil (I reckon VGC is slightly under looking at shipped numbers), so it depends.

Will it have online? Will it be heavily advertsied? If it goes the right way, then it may reach 1.1-1.2mil in Japan. If not, it may just reach 1mil. MH is NOT as big on consoles as handhelds. Tri is by far the best selling console version to my knowledge, and I wouldn't be certain if it could outsell that.

I agree, but this is different.

All of those gams had a reason to sell better with the port, either due to new content or a better game. MH PS3 is a simple, lazy port, which, I believe won't even have the same online structure as Tri, and it's a lot later. And home consoles are well down now, compared to when it was released.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but unlike those other ports, the odds are stacked against it.

I think it will sell comparably, I think the gamers over there prefer the game on handhelds though.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
