Forums - Website Topics - gamrFeed - what do you like, what can we do better?

OK. Since I wasn't very constructive in the other thread...

-I really just think the editing needs to improve. Too many slips through the cracks. I would have to go through all the articles I posted under to find them, but there are a few where I commented and said the article was poisonous. To the site's credit, most of those (except one I can remember) were edited and fixed.

-And how about 2 sources be listed for an article (if possible) instead of one. Would really help to make it seem less copy and paste and more of a summary of events.

-Honestly some of the original stories here are quite good. The more of those, the better (really enjoy Nick Simberg's stuff).

What is the objective of gmrFeed? Is it to compile all news regarding gaming? I think gamerFeed should contain most of the news but given objectively. Have a more detailed filter tags with more emphasis in original articles. I'd filter the news by Originals, Sale related news and general gaming news. This way you could incentivate VGChartz original articles and have a section for sales related news. The rest of gaming news could go to a gamrRSS included as a subsection, where the users can vote and influence on the relevance of the story (but maybe this is what gmrFeed wanted to be).

An idea for original articles could go with weekly discussion on matters that have occured during the week, or exclusive news VGChartz might obtain in the future.

he problem with gmrFeed it kinda overlaps with the forum, since that also acts like a RSS feed for news and opinions between your users. So I'd orientate to more original content if it can be made.

I can't think of anything that I really like about it. Hiring some competent writers would be a good start or at least having a chief editor that needs to greenlight all the stuff that gets posted, because seriously, the news that get posted on gamrConnect reek on average much less of bias than the gamrFeed stuff that often times just tries to rile people up.

Regarding editorials, many of them are poorly researched. Admittedly, I don't spend much time on gamrFeed, because the forums here are a much better source of information, but everytime I go there I just get confirmation to better stick to gamrConnect.

To end this post with having said at least something positive, Kantor is doing an alright job.

Would that be because I haven't posted anything on gamrFeed for three months?

Time. You guys shouldn't be too late with the news, most of the news article on gamrfeed is something which we would have read already.

Also its kinda difficult to distinguish the news articles on the front page (the hub), because of smaller space alloted for it.

dont post things unless you have a credible source

if you want to post something but dont have a piece of information, dont just make that piece of information up to fit your argument, go find it

- There needs to be an editor who coordinates everyone posting news to maintain a cohesive reporting structure and who makes rules and guidelines for everyone. There are lots of people posting news there, and they follow different guidelines for it, mostly whatever they think is appropriate, but sometimes really isn't.

- Sometimes news are posted many hours, or even a day or two, after the pertained events or after they've been available in many other sites. Have someone be on top of gaming going-ons.

- I enjoy the top tens and those where we must come up with a funny caption, but that's not related to posting news.

We should get Vgchartz points for commenting on the articles!!!!

Thats my number 1 want haha, that and some of the articles can be biased towards a particular console. Its usually not bad but theres been a few news stories I was shocked at how biased they were.

ah was about to complain why my thread was closed but this will do,

current pluspoints :

- analystic articles are awesome and well written

downsides :

everything is posted maybe filter it some more?

and i just don't like the copy/paste attitude ( could use a more personal touch where do we have those writers  for beside that? otherwise i vote that everyone can post a new article if he knows how 2 properly  copy/paste

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

The weird thing is, we actually have that :-/

In all seriousness, I would love to have the ability to view all my posts on both gamrfeed and gamrreview. Also, Just like gamrconnect, it would be great if we can see who quoted me in gamrfeed or gamrreview.
