Forums - Nintendo - Issues with 3DS???

Now now, let me explain.

I got a 3DS at launch, and I love it. Very much so. I;ve played it for over 100 hours already, so that's surely a good sign (though a lot of them were pokemon ). So when I turned on the 3DS to play Pokemon again, I was surprised to see that it did not load, and the screen remained black. Much to my surprise, when I tried again, the same issue persisted. The system does turn off, after a few seconds of holding down the switch.

When I tried to format the data, the same thing occured when opening the system settings, yet other software works fine. However, in some cases, it freezes on certain pages and won't let you leave them (i.e. home button becomes infunctional) and if you try and load in certain software, the screens freeze, yet the music and 3D continue, and you can change them. But the screen freezes.

I'm really quite annoyed. I haven't done anything to the 3DS-it hasn't been dropped, hacked, water spilt on it-nothing. And yet, it doesn't seem to work for some reason. Well, not all the time, anyway.

So my question is this. Do you have any advice, any links to articles? Are you in the same position? If so, please post below. I was going to wait until the system update, but if it won't load, what can I do?

Thanks for your help in advance

Happened to me once. when start SSFIV, the screen went black and nothing else.

I shut down my 3DS wait a little and turn it on again and didn't have this issue again. Maybe you can ask Nintendo support?

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.

Just give Nintendo a call and they'll send you a new one.

Assuming you haven't made sweet sweet love to your 3DS. They belive don't take opened products back.

Gievn that it's the first time I hear of something like this, I say you should send it to Nintendo.

Hunh, that's weird... I have no idea what the cause could be, but I've had some funny things happen, too, like the 3D icons for games and other software on the Home Menu spinning around like crazy and not stopping.

that happened to me as well, but I was on a train. I think it was picking up the background noise...

Does anyone have an e-mail address? I've just had a quick look and can only find stuff for Wii and DS, nothing for 3DS :/

Well, it happened to me at home, while it was completely silent, and it happened several times as well. Dunno why, not that it's a big deal, just weird.

Conegamer, Update your 3DS, that should fix it, if no call Nintendo, but Updating it should fix the issue, did for me bro

no matter the hardware there will always be a few that break.  just give nintendo a call.  i had bad luck and had to get 2 replacement wiis but nintendo took care of it really easy at no charge to me.  their customer service was pretty easy to deal with as far as customer services go.
