But it's understandable that his child could have taken those words with a little more meaning than they have and totally fail the context of them. The context isn't hard to miss for a child that only wants to play a game for fun. The thing is when you reach those parts in the game, the story get much more visual and it's easy to a child to pay more attention to them.

Not standing for this cause though, but that father have my sympathy.

She was plenty old enough to get what was going on (I believe they said she was 8 or 10).  I don't know if you've played Portal 2 but the mood there is painfully obvious.

The father and people like him need to learn not to be so overly sensitive about everything and the news needs to actually have some sort of context.  Of course neither of those things will ever happen.

The game is E10 . Irresponsible father I say. It's easy to put the blame on anyone.

His daughter is 10 years old. Explain to me how that was irresponsible.

While the game meant this in good humor and nothing personal, I can easily see how an adopted child could take it harshly. Being adopted is an extremely tough situation to deal with for certain people, and I find it completely understandable if someone were to take it personally. We're humans, after all.

Yes, yes, from what I can tell, Glados is calling him an idiot for making "adoption jokes," but I don't think that'd really stop the sting someone gets when they hear his comments. We're humans. A lot of us are insecure in different ways, and you can bet a lot of adopted children are insecure for that reason. It'll sting, even if the developers didn't mean for it to be taken seriously.

Just sayin'.

I love how they "contacted sony" why didnt they "contact MS" while they were at it... better yet go contact EA or Activision...

the worse is that even Valve isn't responsible... the institution that rate the game is the one to blame... i can make a game full blood, violence, sexual display, with bad language and insulting jokes about every thing... who rates the game are the one that have to sort it out who is mature enough to watch that and have the intelligence and the insight that its just a video game, movie or a music and reality is a whole other thing!

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

I didn't know her daughter was 10 years old but then if she's 10 years old she's definitely old enough to understand these kinds of things.

And I doubt Sony just said "contact valve" I bet they had a long drawn out letter explaining why they cant comment on the game since they had no say in development.

Unfortunate circumstance obviously, but the dialogue is perfect in context and I can't find any fault with the game.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Adoption jokes were exclusive to the PS3 version.
