While the game meant this in good humor and nothing personal, I can easily see how an adopted child could take it harshly. Being adopted is an extremely tough situation to deal with for certain people, and I find it completely understandable if someone were to take it personally. We're humans, after all.

Yes, yes, from what I can tell, Glados is calling him an idiot for making "adoption jokes," but I don't think that'd really stop the sting someone gets when they hear his comments. We're humans. A lot of us are insecure in different ways, and you can bet a lot of adopted children are insecure for that reason. It'll sting, even if the developers didn't mean for it to be taken seriously.

Just sayin'.
