I understand this question and I know people would get mad about it;.

But their are so many boys/man who are 20 or even 40 who are married have a wife and children ...And then end up gay while they always like women before....   So it is like they became gay (so not born that way) or have made a choice about it;.

Honestly I don't care about gay people , so long I don't have to see it (sorry can't stand it)..

A lot of those people have also admitted to pressuring themselves into hiding away their true sexuality, mainly due to family or religous reasons and pressure from society. I've been to enough clubs, parties and other random social events to notice that when a dickhead needs to show off his bravado, his going to pick the easiest target and that is usually a homosexual person (people won't help, society still has a negative stereotype on them and their homosexuality is used as a jumping off point for insults).

If your gay, then your still putting up with a lot of bullshit in certain parts of the world. My friend Michael was recently outed by another friend of mine and for me, nothing has changed, but the friend that outed him and another one of my better friends ended up backing away. This is in Melbourne, a city I always thought was progressive and yet I still see or hear about stupid things like this happening every month.

As for the main topic, from what my friend tells me and from what my mums photographer (his also gay) tells me, they believe they are born gay. The photographer (Mark) was open about his homoseuality in his earlier life, but once he hit 30 he tried living a heterosexual lifestyle after a deep depression based around thinking he was never going to have a family or a normal modern life (this guy was loaded by the way and very good looking, shows that money and looks aren't everything). This lead him to actually go on dates with women and just trying to change his lifestyle, but after a couple of years, he just couldn't go through with it. His fine now, has a boyfriend and has bought a house out into the country, but it goes to show you that your sexuality isn't a choice.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

If you knew anything about such cases, you'd know that such individuals never liekd women to begin with.

lol, you don't honestly think they were straight to begin with do you? The explanation is pretty easy on that one, they were with a woman and had a family through fear of being judged.

Yeah that is what I thought, but last weekend it was gay pride here in Brussels... Hate it or love it, but some of those men told me they liked women and later fell in love with men...with later I mean 30-40...

If you were wondering why I was their...I wanted to check out the lesbian busses =p.

I don't particularly know what exactly causes a person to be attracted to someone of the same sex, and I doubt anyone can explain how sexual attraction actually works. It's certainly isn't voluntary, that's for sure.

Maybe those men were bisexual? There is such a thing you know...

Also, how many men told you that? It's not as if you base this on a scientifical study.

Well I went not into details..

Only a few of them, and no did no scientificial study about it...

Well I am going to let it rest, I don't care if someone is born gay or choose to be gay anyway.. So long they have fun and don't hit on me.

Bisexuality exists too you know and when bisexual you're bound to figure out men are much better mates at some point :P

As long as the guy isn't being totally inappropriate about it, you should just take it as a compliment. Then a simple "Sorry, I'm not interested" solved the situation.

I voted born that way but really I think it's a combination of genetic factors and environmental ones.  You could even go from being straight to gay, I don't see why so many people believe it's like you can only be one in your life.  People's tastes and interests change throughout their lives in many other ways, I don't see why it can't be so for sexuality.  This still doesn't make it a choice persay, like I said it would be a combination of genetic and environmental factors that influence your behaviour.

I can't choose who I'm attracted to, however, I have a choice not to act upon that attraction.  So I was born with the attraction to the same-sex just as a heterosexual is born with the attraction to the opposite sex and so on.
