NISA is gonna localize some games for the psp and ps3..and one of them is the Bleach PS3 game

I was just reading about the PS3 Bleach game yesterday, very cool

I dunno man, that game didn't look that good to me :S but then again have only seen one video of it so it's too soon to judge. I wish they would port the Heat the Soul psp games tho, those would be sweeet. Either way can't complain :D this is a good sign

True, but I did like the concept they had come up with for the gameplay. I forget some of the details but didn't they say the combat would be similar Dynasty Warriors with lots of collectibles, playable characters, upgrades, 100hrs of gameplay

Sorry but I'm not familiar with Heart and Soul :(

yeah the ps3 game is a game about roaming and fights like DW. Not a fan of DW games (don't hate it or like it) so that might be the reason. Heat the Soul series for the psp is different. It's a fighting game. The typical two characters on each side facing each other off type of game. but yea too early to tell :D

these guys make really niche games that don't try at all to cater to the mainstream COD idiots...so its good to see that they'll be around for a bit longer...hopefully the success continues to grow for them

In my opinion, I know NIS focuses on Disgaea, but I think this jump in profits is because they are releasing other games at a better rate (more copies on shelves and advertising).  Disgaea has never shown itself to sell more than 300,000 copies per release.  I mean, games like Atelier are getting close to Disgaea sales.  This sounds more like a collection of all their other games than just one major IP.

I agree, they've had some reasonable successes with the Atelier series and unexpected stuff like Neptune and that's a good portion of why they were profitable last year.  Hopefully they have continued success this year.

Don't know about the advertising, never seen anything beyond maybe a banner ad on VGC, but perhaps that's what you meant.

Some stores had large stands for Atelier and I've seen some posters for Neptune around.  Admittedly not massive advertising, but still more than before (nothing).  Also, I use to knock internet advertising, but it seems to have done very well for games like Atelier, Muramasa and other 'niche' Japanese games.  Its still not as effective as a massive TV advertising campaign, but it does help.

Disgaea 1 on PS2 sold more than 250k just in North America.

OT, Congrats to NIS. Nice to see them turning a profit. I was getting really worried about them for a while.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

MS should buy them to help strengthen their brand in Japan...

Well deserved for NIS! Hyperdimension Neptune is a masterpiece and Rorona is awesome. Glad to see that they sold that well overseas :) critics were unfair and awful, but fortunalety the community could support those games via forums and YT (I did my part and I'm proud of it). Plenty of success to come with Totori, Disgaea4 and the awesome-looking new Bleach game.
