On another note. I just checked Gran Turismo 5 numbers. 6,175,912 sold up until May 7th 2011 6,370,000 shipped through December'10 It's selling like 10,000 a Week now, so about 18 Weeks until the game gets another shipment? Sounds reasonable. The shipment numbers should stay at 6.37 Million until we get to like September or something. |
What? Hummmmmm wait a second.
Ok. There are another shippments update through March'11 but the site is not updated due the tsunami had delayed the Sony Q4 to 25th May.
My prediction is 6.9m shipped.

You saying the PS3 won't see $200 before 2013? That's pretty unlikley. |
A cut of $100 this year is as unlikely, probably the cut will be smaller if it's this year.
Anyway not great 3DS sales, but percentage wise it's done fine, better than other consoles, and the games are arriving, its main problems will soon be corrected (no games, screen of death, pretty much no online).

The Wii is the first generation-leader since...well...ever, to relinquish its dominant sales leadership to the competition. It never happened before since before the NES, look it up. All previous generation leaders go down after their competition bit the dust a long while ahead of them. Sure the Wii will clear the 100 million sales mark and has made quite a lot of money, but the way it's ending its tenure brings about serious concerns for their next generation console. It will also be the first time a sales leader releases a next-gen console ahead of the "losers".
**and notice I'm talking about only home consoles in this post**
Sega Master System lost against the NES, so Sega Genesis was released before Nintendo SNES.
Sega Genesis lost to SNES, so Sega Saturn was released before the N64.
Sega Saturn lost to PlayStation, so Sega Dreamcast was released before PS2.
Sega left the hardware business, and Nintendo didn't launch their next one (Gamecube) ahead, but still :
Xbox lost to PS2, so Xbox 360 was released before PS3.
Now the Wii "wins" (???) and Wii2 is launching ahead of the others? There's something crearly wrong with that picture.
Wii may have been Nintendo's last hurrah in the home-console market.
