why amazing for a handheld?
they are a lot cheaper compared to the prices consoles have throughout their years
and in this time and age of travel and people being portable and stuff, it would actually make more sense for a handheld to sell that much

Öh. It is easier for handheld otsell PS2 than normal console. Launch price (PS2: 299$ DS: 149$), Games are cheaper (PS2: 59$ DS:39$) and you can buy many DS's in one house vs. one PS2.

@ajax - well the biggest handheld for last gen was the GBA which sold smething in the way of 70 million units or something and it had no real competition, the closest being the nokia ngage. The DS has almost beat those sales in half the time and it has had some major competition from the PSP for the first time in nintys handheld history.
