Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Developers that Nintendo needs to buy (UPDATED added new devs)

Next Level Games, for sure. I'd love to have NOA move them down to Redmond, and combine them with NST to make a MUCH stronger development studio. It's time to start building NST up to the level that Retro is at right now.

Nintendo doesn't need to buy anyone.  They just need to focus on more exclusive deals and, sadly, probably follow the model of MS and Sony and help pay for development of some key titles.  I could easily see SE making a new Final Fantasy or Capcom make a new Monster Hunter for the next Nintendo system exclusively, if Nintendo helped pay for its development.

Nintendo could have gotten Final Fantasy on the Wii if they really wanted. From what I heard all they needed to do was ask.

FF has always been a series that focuses on graphics and 'cenematic feel' more than anything.  It was a no brainer that SE put FFXIII (and upcoming main FF games) on the HD consoles.  But in order to put it on the Wii, they'd have to create a whole new engine and graphical style.

Perhaps once Cafe comes out ,they might port FFXIII-2 and FFXIII Versus to it.  As long as it can support games on the graphical level of PS3 and allows adaptation of a similar engine.  As it stands, they had to make major changes to the engine just to get it on XBOX360.

Calling the always. More like from about VI onward, maybe IV onward.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Buying good developers don't guarantee good games, especially if the top creators/directors of such studios leave.

There are good professionals, talented people everywhere so what Nintendo should do is create new studios from the gound to make games in those genres that they don't have but need in order to succesfully compete: racing sims, Thrid and frist person shooters, among others.

Nintendo would be making the deals with those people, as that would be the point of getting the studios.

I would say Factor 5. And some studio like Bizarre (I know, now it's closed) for a racing game to Proyect Cafe.

Nintendo would be making the deals with the owners of the studios. Not every studio is like Mystwalker, but even then, they can't be sure that the level designers, music composers, etc. leave.

That's the main reason why buying studios is not a good investment, you can end the the bosses and the "workers", but loose the people between the two groups, the perople that can turn a good/great developer shine or become just another studio.

I would really like if they bought the rights and dev team of dragon quest. Such great games!

And btw, would also like them to fire Sakamoto, or as the OP suggested, give him his own studio so as to never touch Nintendo series ever again.

They should buy Level 5

Ninja Theory- I think with some extra guidance from Nintendo they could produce some top selling games.

Zeptolab- Makers of Cut the Rope. I think Nintendo could do with an extra developer to produce some cheaper WiiWare style software for both 3DS and Cafe.

Rare now isn't the same Rare from back then so I don't see why Nintendo would want them.
