If the heads of Sony have any idea of the market, they won't charge more than $299 for it. Anything over that would be suicide.

It's possible, but unlikely. For some reason I see the NGP selling less than PSP, but selling many more games, too. I also see the 3DS selling less than the DS, but doing very well regardless. This is just my gut feeling, though, and anything is possible at this point.

At the time the PSP launched the US dollar was worth between 110 and 120 yen, today it is at (roughly) 80 yen and falling. Even if Sony prices the NGP to be the exact same price as the PSP launched at in Japan, this would mean that the NGP would launch for around $350. It is likely that Sony might want to charge more than the PSP launched for in Japan, and it is also likely that they would want to protect against further echange rate changes, which means the system could even be dramatically more expensive.

3DS could plummet even more and be unsaveable and NGP could go to huge levels.

Or the public could reject the NGP and start buying 3DS when more games come.

like the others have said, its too early to tell. Its all up to the software/launch titles and the pricing. Lets hope its $299! Im not buying one that first year if its above that because im a broke as bitch lol! (and that it might have a few bugs or concerns like the 3DS with the first model they release)

Im not impressed with the 3ds, it isnt worth the $250 price tag imo.

Not impressed with its launch games and not to big on the 3d itself. Played it for about an hour and my eyes did not like it,I have bad eye site as it is...dont want it to get any worse lol. There are so many things wrong with it, including the battery life (which was a real bummer to hear :() so i'm going to wait for the next model of the3DS, when its cheaper and when it has more software....lets hope megamen legends 3 gets made!!

I do not believe the NGP will outsell the 3DS, but why does it need too?

The PSP was a fantastic effort by Sony and made them a profit, even though it did not outsell the DS.  I see the NGP and the 3DS being in the same boat, but closer than the current two handhelds.
