Now after nine weeks after the 3DS release, sales are down considerably. The Gamrfeed article says it all, with 3DS sales down to Wonderswan levels. Some say it's the lack of upgrade and consumer awareness, even going as far as saying "it's just a DS with 3D screen." Others say as soon as the real games drop, 3DS sales will rise to or even over DS levels.

Personally I think it's the lack of games. What other big games have been released besides Street Fighter 4? So many greta games have been announced, yet none of these has been released yet. Nintendo made a huge mistake with planning the release table so badly. they could have put a lot pf pressure on Sony with a lot of sales before the NGP will be released. Now the sales will just creep until the big sellers come out.

Nevertheless 3DS has an awesome lineup just waiting to be released and games are, after all, the main reason systems sell. That's why I think this gen it will be a close call, 3DS still outselling NGP, but by a very small margin.

Honestly I do because the 3DS is slightly flawed to the publics eye. Many consumers believe that the 3DS is a DS with 3D and that of course is not the case.

The reason that I think that NGP will do very well this time is the ease of development and the addition of 2x analog.

While I think 3DS will not beat DS, I however no way see NGP outselling 3DS. Namely because 3DS can easily do a price drop if necessary. While NGP will have a huge price point to start, and most likely can't be lowered due to high manufacturing costs. 

its possible..Nintendo dropped the ball with 3DS..just isnt enough out to display what the system is about past decent 3D

Sony's chances increase the lower the price is

it has the software comming put it needs toprice

I don't think that it would happen, because whatever the public sees wrong in the 3DS, I feel that it's going to be there in even greater amounts with the NGP.

Few months ago I'd say NGP doesn't have any chances but now I'd say that it's possible

I say give it some time. When the games are released, people realise that the 3D won't blind you and hat it isn't just a 'revised system', the sales will roll in. 

But the NGP is an unknown quantity, I just don't know how that will do, so...

NGP will be a beast in Japan for sure.
