Difference there is that the 360 is up YoY in its 6th Year, and not down by like 40%.

We've already heard the same argument that because sales of the Wii are declining, all consoles are declining, when this simply isn't the case. PS3 has never been doing better and the 360 got its second wind (whether it's short-lived or not will be pretty clear this holiday season) due to the Slim/Kinect release.
It takes a special kind of stubborn to deny that the Wii has been dropping sales and market share faster than any other platform, regardless of total sales or even current sales rates, which despite being very respectable, are far off from where they were a couple years ago.

Ok, but that's mainly because it has farther down to go. It's easy to be up YoY when your previous year's sales were only average.

Um, I think we need to look at sales history of all consoles to actually claim that.
As for the PS3, have you actuall looked at its sales from when the Slim launched? And are you forgetting the PR nightmare going on with PSN?
Acting like the other consoles are riding high is just as ignorant as you are claiming we are about the Wii.

It's easier, yeah, but it doesn't really matter.
Going from 18 Million Wii's expected one Year to 13 Million the next... Is a pretty huge drop.

Well I'm not personally denying a decline. The thread is about Nintendo not dropping the system yet, not its actual sales versus the other systems, which are actually off topic.

Nintendo keeping the Wii on the market after they release Cafe doesn't really mean that the Wii isn't dying.
Wii isn't suddenly going to do a PS2/DS. The main reason those 2 systems sold/are selling well after the successors released is because of the varied SW library along-side continued 3rd party support after the successor is released.
Personally, I expect 13 Million for this Year... 7 Million next. 3 Million... 1 Million... Done.

1. I didn't claim it would do that. Will you all actually read the OP and stop "coutering" claims I haven't made.
2. Lack of early enthusiasm for the next system was another factor (same with the SNES and the N64).

The problem with your OP (which I'm not even "countering" for the following reason) is that it doesn't say how the Wii supposedly isn't dying. It's pretty much saying that Nintendo wont abandon it... So erm... Okay? PS2 hasn't been abandoned fully yet, though I'm pretty sure everyone here will agree that it's dying, despite still selling well for a console in its 11th Year.
Sales are in free fall. Support is dwindling. Successor is on the way. It's dying.

Again, you are ignoring my point about the successor not coming out for a year. My point is for this year and at least the year after launch.
And just claiming lowering system sales alone will mean dropping it is not enough, as software sales are still giving them money and customer.
