so e3...

price cuts inevitable I think considering their statement.

Would be wise. I think they will wait though for the "official" Wii pricecut. That would be the best way to keep the dominance in America.

Nintendo either before or at E3, MS at E3... Sony at Gamescom.

good numbers for the 360 this quarter. While 600k does seem a tad low, sell through worldwide have so many different factors that its impossible to try to be 99% accurate. We'll see what the vgc staff decide to do but a 100k adjustment or no change isn't really a big deal. Now if it needed some ridiculous adjustment, like the ps3 needed to be adjusted up this september, or the 3ds needed to be adjusted down week 1, than I could see why people would cry foul.

I was trying to post a slide from the presentation.

Basically in Qtr4 they expect 25% YOY growth for the E&D division

They also say for FY 2012:

"Expect momentum to continue with more to be shared at E3 June"

25% in HW would be an extra 350/400k on top of the 1.5 they did last year. So perhaps they'll ship 1.8/1.9M next Q?

or if it were profit, well, they made a $120M loss that Q last year, so only a $90 mill loss next Q? the division fluctuates I know, but I'm pretty sure they'll profit next Q.

or if it were revenue, I havn't got a clue, I don't take much notice, it's probably revenue they're talking about though *grumble* how boring

Purely as an educational tool, shipments vs sales every quarter since launch. Regardless, amazing results for MS. IIRC I think I predicted 2.6 so looks like I was almost spot on. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=3903840Yep, 2.6 million

It's revenue, 99% sure.

Guy on the call just asked about next gen xbox, they said they are not talking about that.

Ms keeps making money, Win7 and Office are truly great products.

I had no expectations for 360 shipments although it might the top for the march quater since MS needed to ship enough to get 360's back on stock. it might be overtracked by a few 300k 0r more but I don't expect any adjusments. Kinect, at least it sells.

Good quater.

Nice shipment. HD twins will ship 3,5-4 times the number of Wiis for Jan-March quarter.

Altrough 600k on the shelves seem a bit low.

On shelves and in warehouses/boats, while selling approx 150k per Week WW...

Probably needs adjusting down like 200-300k, much less than what the Wii needed/needs.

disagree

600k is fine

the 360 isnt a global product like the Wii and PS3... the 360 could easily survive with half or less of the "in transit - in stores" of the other two consoles.

Denial is strong in you... Of course the 360 is a "global product" just like "the other consoles".

MS has the same distribution paths as any of the "other companies" so they operate on the same principles. MS as a software company, however, does not have the large shipping logistics Sony, for example, has. There is absolutely no way that barelyy three weeks of supply was in transient past Xmas (The Media group, Europe's largest chain, has/had around 150k units alone in transient storage - no Kowenicki, I am not going to tell you why I know this). I highly doubt the rest of the corporate world lived on 400k units. I am sure once Sony shows its numbers, you will gladly announce that Sony overshipped with 1.5m units in transient storage. If it makes you happy ,we all will agree with you.

$5.2billion profit in 3 months is just insane....

Eh? That's weird. I compared the url's when I copy pasted them. Coding error with the forum I guess. And my prediction was 2.6 million.
