Wow, morons still are arguing about this. Obama's mother was an American citizen. Which makes him an American citizen. He was born in a Hawaii but even if he weren't. It wouldn't matter because his mother was a US citizen. Idiots....

Actually it would.  You can't be president unless you were born on US soil... for some reason.

You sure about that. You don't have to be born on US soil to be a natural born citizen of the US. If you are a child of an American citizen but are born outside of the country you are still a natural born citizen of US. I have a few friends that were born in Germany while they parents were in the military but they are natural born US citizens.

This is the guy who has managed to increase debt by $4 trillion in 2 years

FOUR trillion in TWO years.  You sure about that?

It was around $10 trillion when he came to power, and it's $14 trillion now, two years and three months after he came to power. So, yes.

You cannot be President unless you were born in the USA. Your nationality has nothing to do with it.

I should have known better than to doubt Kasz. He knows his stuff. I stand corrected. Doesn't change how ludicrous this "debate" is though. It would require a premeditated conspiracy or someone using a 1985 DeLorean to go back in time.

It's actually Four Trillion in 3 years.

What's amusing about that Paul Ryan's big plan cuts 4 Trillion... in 10 years.

While Obama's cuts 4 Trillion in 12 years.

So in otherwords all the budget cut talk is funny enough, not nearly drastic enough.

That's what really shows the bias of Ryan's plan, though. All it'd take is 20% longer, you'd save the same amount, but it wouldn't cripple social programs like Ryan's would. It's an almost unveiled attack on our human services

And actually some analysts say that Ryans plan would actually increase debt and not decrease it

Are you sure they weren't born on US military bases.  US military bases are considered US soil.

EDIT: Actually, I was wrong you don't need to be born on US soil if BOTH of your parents are US citizens.  However there is still actually  a legal and constiutional arguement that they wouldn't be able to run for president that some have made.

Distant relatives of Pachter? How can a $4 trillion cut in government spending increase debt?

Well... that and it's not REALLY a savings either way.

We'd still be running deficits of around a trillion dollars a year.  It's not deficit reduction... it's deficit... increasing but just by not that much.

It's like a young married couple who runs up giant credit card bills argueing over eating out 4 times a week or 5.

The Obama plan saves 333 billion a year.  The Ryan plan, 400 Billion.

We're spend 1.5 Trillion this year.

So... we'd still be spending a trillion a freaking year.

The same way economists say the stimulus saved us from the deficit.  Economic models that essentially are created with the assumption that the theory you prefer is reality in the firstplace.

No matter how bad you fail, you can plug in the numbers and say we'd of failed worse otherwise.

Partly because it gets rid of the new healthcare plan, which people insure is going to save the country money... even though all it does is set up a comparison website and forces everyone to buy insurance.
