Forums - Gaming - Why I'm excited for FFXIII-2

It will include towns and exploration:

One of the biggest complaints for FFXIII was that it was too linear. The younger and new generation couldn’t compromise on how terrible the layout of FFXIII was. When the older, more knowledgeable gamers, expressed how watered down the settings were, they were accused of not liking change. I expect Squeenix to respond to the cry of its previous audience, and treat them to a world of exploration. Instead of corridor towns, players will have the option to break from the game, and venture through a glorious overworld map with random battles, dungeons and cities. Squeenix will redeem themselves and be loved again.

The sidequests will be epic:

“Wait til chapter 13, and the sidequests will pour in.” That was the response to those who were bored to tears the first 30 hours of gameplay in XIII. And while there was some truth to this, the fact that the one and only sidequest available was so tedious, left gamers underwhelmed. Squeenix will expand on the side missions in their upcoming sequel.  They will include card games, chocobo treasure hunting, auctions, and comedy relief. Final Fantasy fans will be reminded of the golden 'Soft' age.

Final Fantasy sequels were the best Final Fantasy games ever released:

FF7, which was a sequel to Crisis Core, and FFX-2, which was a sequel to FFX, were both the greatest FFs ever created. While Squeenix learned from FFX, they were able to fix all the wrongs and provide the perfect sequel with FFX-2.  It doesn’t stop there. Squeenix, after releasing the horrible Crisis Core for the PSP, were able to travel back in time, and create what is considered the best FF of all time: FF7.

It will be released before FF vs XII :

FF vs XIII, as we all know, is a spin-off. If there’s one thing Squeenix learned already, it’s that spin-offs don’t sell nearly as well as the main franchise. So as a courtesy, they are going to further delay vs and treat our wet noses with an undeniably great sequel with FF XIII-2.  The team currently working on vs expressed their excitement for its consumers and are in full support of the new sequel.

I can't take you seriously after this...

Anyway, I'm in a wait and see situation. Let's see what FFXIII-2 bring.

Perfect Rol thread.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

While towns and sidequests are good additions they are way overrated especially this gen.

What I'm excited about is that the game seems to go deeper into the mythology of FNC where Lightining is the protector of Etro the goddess of death ,they need to get the plot right this time , with a little Improvement on what was already a great battle system , and we'll have a masterpiece .

Versus isn't a spin-off, no argument allowed <_< . You meany , can't you see me suffering already .

Unlike so many others, I quite enjoyed the current installment and yes, I do too look forward to the forthcoming one.

I dont think FF7 counts as a sequel, since it was made long before Crisis Core. in fact, its probabily better to play FF7 AND then play Crisis Core to understand the FF7 universe better; although to enjoy the FF7 universe better i would suggest not playing any game from the compilation except for FF7.

and FF10-2, while having some gameplay merits was not a game that could stand on its own 2 feet. if it wasnt the sequel to the very well recieved FF10, it would've been slated for what it was.

besides i'm betting the sales of FF13-2 wont be good at all, reflecting the poor consumer reception of FF13.

Versus > XIII-2
