In unrelated news, approximately 52 hours ago, Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal learned that "Playstation" was NOT a teenage euphanism for blowjobs.

Big deal. Senator Blumenthal should go lie about serving in Vietnam some more. I'm honored to have my identity stolen because a company as great as Sony fucked up.

Please tell me this's a joke

It's not a joke. It's a BadGenomeon.

I see no demands... i see opinions and suggestions... but no demands.

And i'm really not worried about this. You guys are saying they knew about this for over a week when sony said they were investigating what caused it. then they admitted it was an external intrusin. then they said information might have been lifted. Sounds like within their information investigation they learned facts and released the info they had on it

lol

wow, this is ironic.

the guy, who lies for a living, and actually steals (as well as the rest of the federal government) from the citizens of the united states, lecturing a business on how to run.

if sony screws up, and peoples CC and ID get stolen, they will compensate, they dont need crooks... err the government telling them what to do.

This sounds like what congress does.  Whenever an issue breaks out, some congressperson will end up grandstanding and looking like a champion of this group and that, and then will seek to have some hearings where they will "get to the bottom of things".  I guess this is done to make the people feel they can do wonders.

Awaiting congress to fix the security leaks and also catch the guys who did it.  Need individuals who will call the Internet a "series of tubes" to get to the bottom of things.

I finally understand what the hacking commuity means by "It's not just for pirating games..."

Remember two weeks ago when we were all laughing about how Anonymous failed?

Good times...

Ted to the rescue!!!

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Sony really deserves the blame for this because the ability to do what has been done was publicized long before it happned. Their weakness in security was known long ago and spread far across the internet (even to this site) and they didn't do anything to protect themeselves or their customers until damage was done.  At best they were ignorant, at worst they were negligent because they thought they could buy some sympathy for their anti-pirate crusade.  Either way, it's an utter failure on their part.
