It's impressive how you continue with what you believe.

I won't even try to counter your points of view, the trees don't let you see the forest. But i disagree your way of thinking, hands down.

ou can disagree with me, but you can;t disagree with the fact that Wii has declined and 3DS has ben underwhelming to say the least and that Nintendo has done it to themselves

This judging of 3DS Mario pre-emptively is going to make me blow something up. Maybe i'm just still thinking in violent terms after playing Conduit 2 for 2 hours, but seriously, what the hell? The most we could concede from your line of thinking is that Nintendo needed to better space out the console-pushers, but different teams make different kinds of games, hell the ever-loathed Sakamoto's team came up with WarioWare and Tomodachi fucking Collection, yet all we bitch about is "OtherMOtherMOtherM"

You can't fathom the furious frustration i'm feeling generated by this obstinance.

This is the hopelessly obstinate, downright cancerous influence on discourse that i was talking about. We can't have a discussion in any field anymore without people screaming about Nintendo's current discussion.

I think its a completely fair assessment of Nintendo's problems, they took probably the best position anyone in video gaming has ever had with the  Wii and torched it with games like galaxy and Other M, they took a system that was overselling nearly every other video system ever made ( with the possible exception of the DS), and reduced it to where it is now, not because of anything Sony and MS did, not because of third parties, but because of their own choices.

Mario 3DS will not push the 3DS, 3D Mario is not a system pusher, heck the Mario 64 on the DS was a disaster, the 3DS itself is also seeing falling sales, how far does it have to fall before you acknowledge that it was a mistake on Nitnendo's part.

Your blindness that somehow Nitnendo can do no wrong with its choices is the problem, its your obstinance not mine

The second point is debatable in light of past performance (namely the predecessor to the device in question), but rather most of us are flabbergasted by this extremist philosophy that there is only 1 proper kind of game to make, and all else is just waste. We could make a discussion regarding how Nintendo might have better paced their software distribution across this generation, certainly, but while there are these fundamental disagreements (and this seemingly endless scorn being heaped upon them), the Malstromites cannot hold discourse with the non-Malstromites. I shall repeat my previous declaration of "Screw You Guys, I'm Going Home," and shunt from my field of vision all who zealously profess this virulent vitriol, for the sake of preserving my sanity and retaining any semblance of enjoyment as i peruse VGChartz

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

@axt113 you got nuts i give you that, i agree with your upstream thing, i think it is absolute crap to believe that all those WiiFit playing grandmas and grandpas or whoever would start buying Zelda 3d, it they didnt care about it before then they sure as hell dont now. BUT, thats the whole reason why Ninty is trying to bridge these types of games. not making 3d Mario or Zelda because it doesnt sell as well, is the most riduculous thing ive read on this site, since people were complaning that split/second was on PSP but not Wii, all that would do is piss people off and get them even less support, you really think the public is that stupid that they will buy yearly iterations of WiiSports, Fit, Party or whatever in massive numbers??? I question you as a gamer, why would you want less options??? unless you have stock in Ninty but if you dont thats strange way of thinking. i consider myself a gamer and the truth is i dont love the WiiSeries, its fun but nothing i can really sink my teeth into, its like an appetizer too me. i wouldnt be satisfied with those types of games alone. I for one love  the direction of Ninty i rather them try something different with Mario or even Metroid and fail than just give me the same exact thing over and over again

Mario 64DS was a failure?? (looks at sales) that pretty damn good for a PORT of a older game, with worst controls. funny how you mention that a port didnt move consoles but the original game in question did.

Maro 64 moved consoles on the N64 due tothe novelty of 3D at the time, notice how it didn't carry over to any other 3D Mario.

Mario 64 on the DS didn't ignite DS sales hence why its a failure, it was released to launch DS sales

You may like it, but the market isn't really exited by a Galaxy or Other M, you may have loved the Nintendo games o nthe N64 and GCN, but they didn't really do very well in the market.

I'm not saying they shouldn;t make meatier games, but they need to make meatier ones that follow the ideals of the games that truly move consoles, its no hard to see how the games in Wii Sports resort could be adapted into full scale meaty games, heck the sword game in WSR could be made into an epic adventure game by Nintendo, focused on fighting, not puzzle solving

I swore off this, and yet i return.

Where is the proof that Skyward Sword is focused on Puzzle-solving over fighting, which is the underlying accusation your comment is loaded with? If anything we should see the most substantial combat of the 3D era

I didn;t say there is only one type of game to make, if you think that you misunderstand me, I am saying that many games should be made, but the should follow successful ideals, you can make meaty fare from the ideals in WSR and Wii Fit, you can make games that capture the old school feel of games, easier to pickup and play but lots of fun in a similar vein to NSMB, I'm not saying just make NSMB only, I'm saying don't waste  time on dead ends like 3D Mario and Other M and Skyward Sword, when better games can be made using the ideals of actual success

When was the last time Zelda wasn;t loaded down with puzzles and other boring crap?  When was the last time you weren't stuck on a boat or in a train or doing some other boring travelling and backtracking in Zelda?

I'll be happy to be proven wrong about Skyward Sword, but I won't hold my breath, I'm expecting a little bit of swordfighting and a ton of puzzles
