Things to consider: Wii has one year left - it needs some games especially over the holiday season. Nintendo would be idiots to allow a complete draught that prompts Wii owners to go elsewhere for games (PS360) and then ask them to reinvest in Wii2.
On the flip side
Virtually any 'gamer' who owns a Wii has an HD console by now, which means except for top quality Nintendo big IPs(Zelda) they'll almost surely buy a comparible game on their HD system over on the Wii. It's makes the prospects for Tales, Xeno, TLS, etc, weak. Kirby Wii - sure, that we'll see.
It appears the 'Cafe' will be geared to attract/maintain 'gamers' and not just casuals. One of the best ways to boost it would be to launch a lot of great 'core' games on the system in it's first year. So NoA might hold off on Xeno, TLS, Zangeka, Pandora's Tower, etc until Wii2. They wouldn't sell systems but Wii2 owners - looking for something to play - may be more likely to pick them up than the current Wii crowd. But then they might need to upgrade them to HD to attract that crowd. Doubt that'd happen.
I could definitely see DQX becoming a launch title for 'Cafe' in Japan. Would it still come out on Wii? Could like Z:TP but for sure it'll sell more on 'Cafe'.
The further issue is 'Cafe' is announced and will be shown/playable at E3. Why would any non-casual gamer buy a Wii after that? Not even for Zelda (unless Wii is dirt cheap by the holidays). Basically with 'Cafe' announced any gamer would save their cash for that and not even consider Wii.
Under those conditions, if I was NoA I'd release Major Nintendo IPs (Zelda, Kirby... Starfox?!) along with casual fare - Wii Play Motion, maybe a second Wii --- (Dance? Music 2? Relax?) before Christmas and hold off those JRPGs and action games until 'Cafe's release and either make them Wii's swan song - hoping 'Cafe' owners will also pick them up - or convert them to HD and skip Wii altogether.
