Even if DQX comes out after the next Nintendo system, I just hope it comes out here.  And doesn't take a year like most of the titles.  We're already going to get DQM: Joker 2 after 3DS came out, so I doubtr DQX will get canned.

The game I'm worried about is Dragon Quest Monsters Battle Road for Wii.

Does it matter?  Im sure all the games listed will flop anyway, why waste money and resources translating a game for poor sales?  Guess Nintendo didnt learn anything from Sin and Punishment.

DQIX was advertised by Nintendo and sold over a million between Europe and America.  I hardly call that a flop.  And now more than ever, they need to push the series to keep it popular.  DQX has a chance to surpass the sales of DQVIII if they keep advertising it.

Dragon Quest 8 sold 1.4 millon between Europe and America and didnt need Nintendo 's help at all, so I dont understand your first point. Dragon Quest is a popular RPG franchise that has been around for over 20 years, itll be popular on any platform it sells on.

SE advertised DQVIII and it came with a preview disk for FFXII.

All the following DQ games (except Monsters: Joker) were completely ignored by SE with no advertising.  And sold horribly as a result.  Joker saw sales of nearly 500,000 between America and Europe, with advertising.  Nintendo advertised DQIX, and it sold over a million.  DQV didn't even sell 150,000 copies between America/Europe.  And all those sales were based on the existing fanbase.  The reason?  A total lack of advertising.  No one will buy a game if they never hear about it.

My point was, as long as the series continues to get advertising, it'll get more popular and sell better.  Iwata himself said that's why Nintendo was helping advertise the series.  Because SE was dropping the ball (300 Million spend on advertising FFXIII and not a penny on DQIV, V, Rocket Slime and Swords).

Imagine if SE stopped advertising the next 4-5 FF titles.  You'd see sales go from 6 million to 500,000.  That's exactly what they're doing to Dragon Quest.
