Hammerin' Hero will put some hair on your chest. Its a very fun game, sort of short though.

I picked up a third(since I had a huge stack of money :-p) in March 

Do yourself a favor and download some games from from the PSN classics immeadiately:
Crash 2 & 3
Tomba
MediEvil
Both Oddworld titles
Rayman
Spyro year of the dragon

As for psp games i enjoyed in the platforming genre:
Locco Rocco and it's sequels
Dracula X Chronicles(if you aren't into old school Castlevania skip this and just grab Symphony of the Night from the classics)
Crush
MegaMan Powered Up
Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins
Exit 1 & 2
Yumi's odd odyssey (a little puzzly but in a rather platformy manner That was originally on PS)

I don't have access to PSN, but I have all the Crash, Spyro, Rayman games on the PS1 

You have good taste. Just make sure when it's up and running you get  Tomba.  It's totally awesome(as was the sequel that I don't think has made it up quite yet).  Oddworld games are platformer but they control like old school prince of persia which is a turn off with many platformer fans.  Similar complaints to be found against exit.
