So, that means those that are near sighted but refused to put glasses on have problem with 3D viewing? Instead of the usual double images from near sightedness. Now you get quaduple images with the addition of 3D effects? |
I am near sighted. Yes I have to put my glasses to enjoy glassesless 3D (oh, the irony).
If I don't, I see a blurry mess of duplicated images, not quadruplicated.
My jump off a cliff death ratio has droped drastically since I now can judge distances finally.
Maybe this will help me complete 3D world game on a much higher percentage as I usually quit most, out of pure frustration, and go back to playing 2D platformers.
I really never could play that OoT. 3D worlds are so annoying if you can't tell depth. You know I don't want to spoil anything but i think Nintendo is on to something here. ;)
Specially if you can use the gyroscope to move your view around and take away the frustrating part of trying to look around in the environment to locate your objective. or just look at your feet and hands.
The 3DS doesn't look like much now. But i have a feeling Nintendo has a well thought out plan with this thing.
They want to make Hard Core games accessible and fun for everyone. Not just technologist, with technologies that make 3D worlds as easy to navigate as 2D world.

It depends for me, I can play games easily with the 3D on about half. This excludes of course Rayman 3D which personally for me has some reaaaal issues with the way the 3D was implemented. I can play all AR games, and Monkey Ball 3D easily for hours without feeling any negitiave affects. Then I played Rayman 3D for 15 minutes got a killer headache and had to take a nap :/ not sure why this happens but Rayman for me at least has a lot of ghosting and depth issues.
For everything else it looks great and doesnt affect me at all, if you're looking to get OoT you won't be disappointed. I got to test the game back in Feburary through my work and it looked amazing, the 3D was very comfortable and smooth, no ghosting or depth issues for me.

I use the 3D nearly all the time. I have never had a problem with it straining or tiring my eyes and can play for about 20-30 mins non-stop before need a short break. The effect is quite cool when it works well, has a 'wow' factor it but that depends entirely on the developer imo. For example, in Nintendogs Cats / Home Menu / Built-in Software, it works really well (all Nintendo programmed ofc) but in Ridge Racer I found it to be a bit rubbish. Still an amazing feature though. Even without it though the 3DS is amazing.
I had a long post written up, but I realized it was nothing but tiresome blabbering, and could be summarized in a single sentence:
I don't use it, because I don't care.

Stop trolling the 3DS on every occasion, it just makes you look insecure about your system of choice. By the way, the Wii sucks. |
Stop trolling the Wii on every occasion and acting like you're a fan of it. This is far worse than my honesty.

Theres a whole lot of "never use it" votes, but barely any comments from them?
Why don't you explain yourselves, or are you fanboys?
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
