i dont care about the hardware much, but if they are shown to start giving me good content i would switch over to playing nintendo more, at the moment i dont even have a wii, i ended up selling it so i could buy buy more ps3 games. if they dont give me content, i dont support them, that goes for any company

finaly we can start generation 7 with all aboard... LOL kidding... never play any mario game to date, so nintendo has little to none to offer me... but  yeah, its nice to see what would they bring to the table!

I'm a fan of the Wii already, I should like the next console.

Indifferent... save for the fact that since it gave birth to lots of stupid discussions on the forums, I'm a bit annoyed... HD screens on controllers and blu-ray in a Nintendo console... come on people, are these two even worth discussing?

For one I think it is too early for the next gen.

Second, Nintendo needs to start giving us some new IPs. I have been seeing Mario, Metroid, Zelda, etc... for over 20 years now. Time to try something new.

While I do hope they continue to make Mario, Metroid, Zelda and the rest I couldn't agree more.  In terms of software the number one thing that Nintendo needs next gen is strong brand new IP's.  You can only develop franchises for so long before people get bored with them, even the mighty Nintendo 1st party games.

If I was going to get this new Nintendo console my #1 want would be for it to come with an online service that can mount a challenge to Xbox LIVE and perhaps maybe a change in attitude towards 3rd-party developers akin to that of the way they acted with the 3DS.

I'm not excited.. sure a bit curious about it. The problem is Nintendo first failed me somewhat with the Gamecube and then  failed me again with the Wii... so yeah that's how I feel. Unless Nintendo does something truly extraordinary, I'm not buying right away.

well as a long time first gen 3rd gen Nintendo fan i think next gen will be the one gen i leave Nintendo behind?

i don't see how they could innovate HD hardware past whts been done and the continuing improvements, but on the other hand it is Nintendo?

next gen will be the worst for the big 3 and not one of the big 3 can just expect me to buy there console?

heres a short list of wht i expect:

20 new exclusive i'ps published by the console manufacture only

10 innovate IP published by the console manufacture only

more reliable hardware

unreal3 seems to be heading in the right direction for game engines

close to PC rivaling power with a easyer yet more expansive architechture for dev's to beable to get the most out of the hardware early and still be able to push the hardware

give more control of the hardware to dev's, and more space atleast 1G of memory (or 1 terrabit)and close to a 1 terrabit hard drive. maybe 500 or 700G, and more Ram and Rom.

I just love how the poll subtley suggests the only reason PS3/360 owners would care abut nintendo is because it has HD, and that it matters.  I find it kind of insulting that people care so much about graphics.  Last I checked, Nintendo had the best reviewed and highest selling exclusives this generation.  (I did a lengthy comparison explaining that Nintendo had the best and highest selling exclusives)...

I care about gameplay, I like FUN games that have POLISH.  Not every game needs to be 600 hours long with endless multiplayer options and online crap. 

That said, I don't think we should be going to the next gen, because the Wii is just fine, it doesn't need HD, it just needs to make GOOD games.
