Going by Media Create, the gap will be less than 1k between the 360 and Wii.  In the Wiis favor.

Are there adjustments pending or something? PS3 and 360 were both up YOY according to NPD but they're both down here. And damn Trestres, you're right. Once Japan goes up Wii will have sold less this week than what it sold just in Americas this week last year.

Yes it is a massive drop, but it says a lot when the wii is a only couple thousand behind the x360 (probably beat it with Japan) and it has had such a massive drop. It shows the dizzy heights it is coming from.

The fact that it is still competing without any new major games is a credit. You can take it as a negative or a positive. Nothing sells well forever except bread (maybe drugs, booze and sex as well) so I it had to fall at some point, it's approaching five years old and past it's peak. 

It seems some people thought it would have sold a billion or something.

As talk of a new wii spreads sales of the current one will probably fade, at least until a date is confirm (this year or next, whenever), even with a price cut.

Edit: OK, just read it is predicted for a late 2012 launch so maybe the price cut will help.

Yes, but higher hardware sales means higher software and peripheral sales, and that's where most money comes from, right? Anyway, we'll see. Sony, MS and Ninty will do whatever is more convenient for them. I personally think they'll all cut the price of their consoles this fall.

Wii not adusted down 90K in US and maybe 700K in EMEAA?  the 2.2M shipped report from sony makes me think wii has done about 1.8M.
