It's just a slow time for gaming in general. usually happen this time of the year. The weekend's always seem like a slow time for vgchartz. Not as many people on,I guess.

I feel like that every time i come here. A couple years back it was pretty good here. But now people are just plain idiotic, theres an over abundance of Sony fanboys, Mods are too ban happy and everyone just tries their best to be funny.

Also I feel like leaving VGC, these days, but then I see people like seece arguing with others, and feel like arguing for the sake of it. 

Haha yeah debating the dumb things people say does draw me into discussions, cause it's basically what got me involved in the community here back in 2007, except it would be a 10:1 ratio of good posters to dumb posters and with 10 different people telling you how many ways you're wrong they eventually gave up, now that ratio has flipped it seems but you know I never give up the ghost, it's not that hard to defeat 10 different replies if you have facts and logic on your side.

A site about numbers attach those type of posters. The ones that are too attached to their beloved companies and defend them anyway possible, just look at how defensive people get with opinions. Mods aren't helping either, bans are being issued based for hurting the fans feelings. You are a mod, you can contribute to the problem or start solving it.

It seems like the OP mainly doesn't like people ragging on his favourite company, though he does bring up a few good points, even if they are thinly veiled under his obvious bias and irrattional anger to those that disagree with him.

Seven threads about the Wiis successor is just ridiculous, none of them have any room for any normal debates, mainly because everyone has a side and they are willing to fight to the death, just to prove their side is the best. I should be able to go into one of those threads and list a bunch of problems I have with the possible specs or negative ramifications of the next console, without being called out as a hater. I like a good discussion, I also like being proved wrong sometimes, but unless the debate involves Mr. Kahn, Jarrod, Khutra or Smeags, it just becomes a one sided argument, with the other side throwing insults and broken trains of thought.

The Microsoft section is dead because Microsoft news has been dead for a while. No new news, no new exclusive releases, no new PR outbursts, stabilized sales and semi happy consumers, means that there is nothing to talk about. It's as simple as that. The Microsoft section was a buzz last year with releases like Alan Wake, Halo: Reach, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Fable 3, Kinect, bursts in sales, Mass Effect 2 and a whole bunch of  crazy PR, crazy speculations and events. This year as been pretty bland so far and I'm sure that once E3 comes and goes, the Microsoft side will pick up once again.

I'll ignore that you 'insulted' Sony fans, may have something to do with your butthurtedness, but Sony fans have had plenty to talk about and discuss, that's why their section is busier. Exclusives, crazy PR, Geohotz, Anon, sales lead, new console coming up and a bunch of happy consumers. I'll admit that the five threads a week about how many exlusives are coming is ridiculous (I've said as much in those threads), but the majority of the threads are about new news, new discussions and a few graphics threads. 

Discussion is good, protecting everyone (or Nintendo fans in your case) from having their feelings hurt in these random debates is whats killing this forum. Intelligent controversy drives discussion, it should be promoted and not mocked. People that come into threads, say three words and leave, should be warned and people that that reply to someone, not to ask, discuss or debate something, but to insult or trod on their point view, should be warned. 

Mods should also try and set an example by creating good threads, not by creating threads and then whining about their issues.
