Forums - Nintendo - So this's the end .... of the Wii.

Oh yeah the party before the party, or in this case the rumors and leaks before the E3 (wich in many cases are more fun than the event itself) and yes specs about Nintendo's next console are on the net.

Now this and the lackluster number from the Wii in the last months we can assume that the Wii days are numbered and the last big shoots have been named (Dragon Quest X, Skyward Sword, Inazuma, etc) Anyway like it or not the console has now a place in history, broke records, expanded the audience to unthinkable places and put motion gaming in the map, now it's a strange thing having one of the best selling devices without the full support of 3d parties, media and a big portion of gaming community.

So, What's your opinion? I had hours of entretainment with the Wii (and probably'll have more with Zelda, Xenoblade and why not whishing for Fatal Frame) but it's still a weird feeling; a mixture of love and hate console like no other.

I had fun, and I am waiting for what the future holds. I will most likely embrace the future with open arms.

For some reason, I still don´t fully believe that, with 100% certainty, the Wii will be the console that gets Dragon Quest X...if news of a successor is true and all, I wonder if there´s any chance of the game moving to the "Wii 2"....it´d practically guarantee victory in Japan way before the release of the PS4.

The future Wii better be strong enough to get multi-plats.  I really want the next Nintendo to be my primary console.  If the Wii2 is only as powerful as the PS3 it is not going to be good.

Most anticipated games of 2011:

Uncharted 3,Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Rocksmith

Modern Warfare 3, Super Mario 3D

sigh.... to be honest i'm pissed. cause this is going to mean less support for Wii and I can't afford a new console right now.

Rumors of a new Nintendo console happen every year, so I wont believe until I see Iwata/Reggie etc on stage saying it. That said its highly doubtful I would pick it up on day one unless of cousre it had some killer app even then I doubt it as I have plenty of games and 100's of hours left of playtime to enjoy on my WIi. Plus, It normally takes more than one game to get me to get a console of course I have a few exceptions.

I'm remaining skeptical.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm infuriated.

To me, if these rumors are true, it spells that Nintendo likes giving into media pressure more than supporting a console.

Sad part, when the Wii 2 comes out MS and Sony will rush out their new machines only they will still get all the 3rd party support and 3rd parties will still bitch that the Wii 2 is underpowered.

Pixel Art can be fun.

That's another thing. Unless they are going to fall over themselves to give the next sytem the games they denied the Wii, they will never really support the system.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

If the rumors are true then Nintendo will have supported the Wii for six years, which is longer than t he norm for them.

Edit: And there's no good reason to assume this has anything to do with media pressure.
