the real question is about what is the Wii2 exactly ?

- a monster of horse power making PS360 big crap ? (I doubt)

- an slightly upgraded Wii (WiiHD)

- same as 2 but with a sort of new Wiimote controller and, why not, a camera kinect like ?

nice late 2012 release. im sure nintendo will this time make the console stronger than the current comp by a good margin.

I said ages ago that as soon as we have confirmation of a HD Nintendo console that I would be there with the "lol copyz" posts.

They were all over the forums when Move was shown, nothing was done about it by the mods so... Only fair I suppose

I fail how too see a new console is automatically an E3 win. The Wii lineup is ass at the moment. Good chance the Wii 2 or we will be the same if not worse.

Why is it a good chance that the wii 2's lineup will be ass. their trying to get better third party support.

Anyway... My own prediction -

Super Wii will be a HD Wii that comes with a camera and an upgraded WiiMotePlus, basically a PS Move/Kinect hybrid control scheme. Vitality Sensor will be at launch with Super Wii Relax as a game for it too. The first "killer app" for the casual market.

Super Wii Fit will launch for it at some point with no balance board, but using the camera.

There will be a 2D Mario game there within 2 Years, as well as a Smash Bros., Mario Kart and Zelda (Skyward Sword).

Probability of coming true - 1%

Will also be nice for Nintendo to join the 7th Generation!

Not sure if it's copied, but doesn't the 3DS have a single analogue nub/stick/whatever...

New hardware is practically an automatic E3 win, unless there's other new hardware or your announcement is insubstantial. Hell, the Kinect peripheral was what won 09 for Microsoft almost singlehandedly, because new tech tends to wow more than old tech, even if the old tech is backed by better software, thus 3DS kicked in 2010, this could do a repeat

Though i'm saying the likelihood of this is low altogether anyway


'winning' E3 is something that is rather subjective...I for one thought 09 ms conference was rather lame and lol worthy if I'm being honest.

so no. to you new HW might make it a win but doesn't mean it's a law or something.

OT: would be a stupid move imho.

It can be quasi-objectively measured through publicity, as Carl pointed out. Hype is, to a certain degree, measurable, and i would say Natal (as it was at the time) got much more chatter going than anything else out of that conference. Objective measures of the quality of E3 conferences can lead to more nuanced debates, but at the end of the day its all about buzz, and its usually pretty clear who comes away with the buzz. 2007 was the last time when no-one really had the edge on buzz, and i would give that one to Sony because that was the first year they really started pushing PSN
