Sure there are exclusives (e.g., mario and zelda if it ever comes out...), and for some that may be enough to buy a new Nintendo system but for me I am not buying a Nintendo system that will have a handful of exclusives and either (a) the same 3rd party support as the 360/ps3 which essentially doesn't add anything new, or (b) limited to non-exsistant 3rd party support which is what the wii has received this generation. One thing I've learnt over this and last generation is that it is 3rd party support that really makes a system great. It happened with the PS2 and it is now happening to the PS3 and 360. First party exclusives can only carry a console so far. |
Nintendo will have a trick up their sleeve, they wouldnt release a console like this, when they were beaten by Sony so badly with the PS1 and PS2. thats when they tried to compete directly with Sony, this time i think they will have a trick up their sleeve.
i think they might be trying to force Sony and Microsoft into launching new consoles. if they do this then they will have a similar advantage as the Wii had to the 360 and the PS3.
Nintendo will get the same 3rd party support the other 2 consoles get imo. no reason not to.
