Actually it does mean sold, since one organization has sold it to another organization. What you  are trying to refer to is called sell-through rate. Next time, best advice not to call another person a dumbass, namely when you yourself aren't correct on the termonology.

Add: The applies to anyone else, who is stating something like this. Given your history on this site, you should know the difference by now.

I hate to get into this, but on VGChartz, in the news posts and on the forums, we refer to Shipped and sold, as opposed to sold and sellthrough. There is no reason why either is superior, but you may as well be consistent with the majority. Anyway, semantics, doesn't really mattter.

It's true it's all semantics, people need to chill if you ask me, it's not a big deal.  And if SSFIV isn't the first to ship 1 million I'm sorry, the article I read that had this press release stated it as such.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Shipped does not mean sold dumbass. Wake me up when you have some real numbers. And shame on you for quoting Capcom over VGChartz.

Oh well. I was looking for a permaban and I didn't get it.

nice job Capcom

Massive fight!

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

Why do people even care about shipped numbers?

This doesn't show demand for the game from consumers, only from retailers. Retailers are going to lose money on this over-estimation and won't be buying too many copies of the game anymore. Take a look at the sales to consumers and check its rate of sale - The game would be lucky to outsell the Xbox 360 version someday.

Maybe if you had just put shipped in the title (like you know you should have) people would be talking about that rather than this silly shipped/sold debate you could have avoided, but your desperation for positive 3DS news took over xD
