There are 3 games doing noticably better than expectations, Zelda, Brink and Metal Fight: Beyblade. Is it particularly worth commenting that with 2 weeks to release, Mortal Kombat is doing fairly well in Americas? Or how about Gears 3 having high first week sales in America, stop the presses!!

Mortal Kombat looking good (especially on PS3). Kratos and the Dualshock doing their work.

Gears 3....what can i say. The game is massive. It'll probably open up to 1.5-1.7 mill here, with an additional 800-900k in EMEAA.

The PS3 also has the MK demo and the 360 doesn't.

I expect the pre-orders to EXPLODE when we have a release date, and more info., akin to that of Pokemon!

I think 1.2-1.5mil in America Week 1 with 300-500k in EMEAA, 200k in Japan, so around about 2mil FW!!

Gears is just amazing. Portal looking good...

Every1 should wait to end gears beta hype train to bring some conclusions like "gears is bigger than halo" etc. We all saw what happened with fable 3, OMG preorders, "it ll do gears fw, "lifetime 6 million" etc
