Forums - Microsoft Discussion - The 360 was dead last worldwide. Is MS in trouble?

360 went with DVD and it's coming back to haunt.  They're losing support.  PS3 is getting more and more exclusive extras and unlike Microsoft, Sony isn't paying them millions.  LA Noire has exclusive content, because the extra stuff just doesn't fit on the DVD anymore.  Not without a hassle anyways.  BD offers "limitless" room for developers.  It's like trying to fit 20 people in a Beetle, where a BD disc is like fitting 20 people onto a bus.  Developers are become more willing to support the PS3 as the 360 limits get closer.  For LA Noire, Sony didn't show up to Rockstar/Vivendi and "buy them" into trun their backs on the other guys with was done for GTA4.

Another thing is Microsoft got an extra year in the market....an extra WITH NO COMPETITION, since Wii and PS3 were not out yet.  An entire year (1½ in Europe) with the market all to themselves and now the PS3 is only 3 and a half million behind them.  They caught up big time without having to pay off/bribe the 3rd parties either.

Are you trollin', or is it really this easy?

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

The 360 is healthier than ever. Just because the PS3 is finally selling better, doesnt mean that X360 sales are bad.

pwin´ every other villain since 1994

Will the Nextbox 720 release this holiday?

I wish.  Hopefully Microsoft starts to push to be the first in the next generation, though if Rumors are true that seems not to be the case.

IMO, Kinect is doing pretty shatty now. They are getting beat by a 3 year old Wii Fit product that doesn't even have close to the number of games that Kinect has.  Kinect is currently selling at 52k!  That is pathetic-- M$ marketing budget has clearly run out of steam.  $150 is way too much for the casual user.  New games and a steep price-cut on the Kinect bundle should help to remedy this problem short-term, but Kinect is never going to be the 2nd half of the 360 lifecycle in the way that M$ was hyping.

This past week, the 360 was last (barring a testicular pie) in worldwide sales.

The PS3 is slowly closing the gap between itself and the 360; a price cut to $199.99 could be huge.

The Wii has no games until Conduit 2 :P and won't even have hope for the future until mid-June at E3...afterwards there will be another 3 month drought until all the titles appear in Q4.

People are disKinecting...despite the heavily supported library. Will the Nextbox 720 release this holiday?

I really do think the 360 is at a crossroads coming soon here.

Price cuts really won't help the 360 too much at this point in my eyes.  I really believe and have believed that Kinect is going to be more of a 'Fad' product than anything else (Atleast this generation) and that the boost from it wouldn't even last a year.

They've really used most of their 'exclusives' trump cards and since the PS3 has caught up in a lot of ways it was deficient in early in the race it's becoming harder and harder for the 360 to keep a grip and I think we've finally reached a point where the 360 doesn't have really many releases (Or nearly as many as the PS3)  and the prices are comparably cheap and the value packed into the PS3 is being recognized.

I still believe the 360 will remain strong in North America, though.  Which still bodes well for their hardware and software sales.   The biggest change I am interested in seeing is when the PS3 drops to around $200 retail price.   Will this help the PS3 compete in North America or will this still not be enough to compete with the 360.   I feel the latter will be the case.

i don't know why you saying this... US this biggest region and UK too still have very strong legs for Xbox360...

People are disKinecting, lol.
