i agree with the wii. but i think the PS3 and 360 has a chance of breaking into the 100 million club.

sony and microsoft will try to keep their current systems alive as long as possible. Ofc everything depends on the consumer. When sales slow down considerably, they will need to move on to the next gen. Its possible if consumers make it possible. Currently all three consoles are selling well. If that continues over the next 2-3 years, maybe. But if new consoles are released before early 2014 it seems very unlikely either will surpass 100mil. Either way first gen where all three consoles are extremly successful from a sales perspective! Now microsoft and moreso sony just need to make up from their losses during the initial ps3/360 years =(.

I hope you're joking. Just look at YOY comparisons - 360's bad, 'specially after Kinect, PS3's worse and Wii's just plain laughable. Contrary to popular belief, no magic price cut will hugely turn this around. This generation's coming to a close, after a rather long while. At this point, PS360 would be lucky to cross 80m and Wii 110m.

On topic, PS3 seems to be doing rather well. Not for a PlayStation console, but still undeniably well.

I will give a similar response to the thread celebrating the 360 when it did this, it does not mean much considering the world wide gaming population has substantially increased since the Super Nintendo. Still it is Sony so it is something to be happier about than x360, just my compleatly unbiased preferance. :P

Wii will be at about 96M at years end and maybe 106M next year then will finish around 110M LT, will top PS1's LT sales mid 2012.  PS3 should do 80M plus LT.

10M - 2012, 5M - 2013, so less than 4M, maybe they wont sell any since Nintendo never keeps their current home console on the market when the next one comes in.  They do that with hanhelds though.
