I don't doubt people see value in them.
Just people who have never played a PC fps.

@pugsly first of all im not even a PC gamer(sans emulators), 2nd of all i didnt even buy this map pack, not because i think its overpriced, but because i havent played the damn game in months, it could have been five dollars. Oh and some people have better options, get over it
@kasz you PC gamers! You all are funny, and i dont mean that in a bad way

Well these aren't free, get over it. PC gaming is struggling because they want everything free or dirt cheap. |
Blizzard and Valve called. They called you ignorant and uninformed. Minecraft just sent you a postcard, the guy was too busy to call.

Well i'd just put it this way.
TF2 on PC has like... probably 3-4X the official maps the console version has at this point.... all free. Some reason they won't allow the free content on the 360 version.
and as for total number of maps....
http://forums.tf2maps.net/downloads.php?do=cat&id=1
There are 2,244 maps there. (Less when you count similiar double but still.... the point remains.)
@Kasz216 oh you dont have to tell me that, i did my research on that game, ill try it one day
@vlad would it not be more time consuming to write a postcard than just call?
Bullshit..such pig headed statement.
A large chuck of gamers need to stop being sheep.

By battlefield you mean recycled maps for new game modes? thats only if you buy the stupid online code, or buy the game new.. Its not different than COD in my eyes.

Granted humans don't need gas per se. But we do rely on gas for transportation and it plays a vital role in our daily lives. Hypothetically, if all the gas disappeared you could imagine all the problems that would create. So no, I don't put gas and video games in the same category. I don't care if other companies follow Activision's DLC foot steps because they still have to create a game that's great right out the box. If they don't you can expect sales to dwindle. Activision looks arrogant? Don't you think they have the success to back up that arrogance? Those map packs sell extremely well. |
That's cool about the gas thing as it is a big discussion of it's own.Just wanted a dramatic counter example. :p
I agree the are the top dogs so they can do what they want, I am saying power often creates arrogance. In this situation, it is by pricing your stuff higher than others. I really do not care as I shamefully bought the map pack, but the factthat Activision's actions at least convey arrogance.

The GTAIV expansions were $20 bucks each when they launched.
Eitherway, GTAIV and RDR don't sell DLC nearly as well as CoD games. And CoD games are released annually so they're selling shit tons of DLC every year.
