Yes, and now it's "slap 3D on everything and be done with it" instead of making games. |
I have a very important question to you Rol: What games do you want in the 3DS?

They could have come with an entire new system. I'm not saying they should have. But it's obvious the 3DS is souped up DS, like the SNES was a souped up NES. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a different direction than the direction Nintendo took with the DS and the Wii is all I'm saying. |
You're forgetting the situation Nintendo was in back when those systems were released. They had a large competitor popping it's head into the handheld gaming market: Sony's PSP. Of course they had to do something "innovative" and they succeeded and decided to keep the DS name for one more generation, is it really that hard to notice this? Keep the strong brand name. For their next console, I dont know what they will do at this point.
No. The 3DS, like the DS before it, uses its handheld nature to do something impossible on a console, in this case affordable 3D. The high price is a bummer, but is no higher than the PSP's was at launch, even without adjusting for inflation.
No, from the view that it offers a new experience and focuses on gameplay at the same time
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
the answer to this one is simple:
only if it fails to sell
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

mini-games on consoles, cinematic games on handhelds, what's next? GameBoy IMAX?

I'm not forgetting anything; you're putting words in my mouth. I'm just stating facts and you're agreeing with me. I even added that there's nothing wrong with the direction Nintendo took: it was a logical step to take.
