I like my portable games huge and engaging while being able to be easily digested in small chunks, like Pokemon...

engaging! monster hunter FTW

Like on other systems: big and engaging. However, portable games should also be playable in smaller pieces. There's a great danger though: small pieces and an engaging whole are hard to fit together properly.

Huge games that can be played in 15-20 minutes bursts would be the perfect mix. Say like playing a couple of levels on NSMB or complete a mission or two in some action game.

Huge games that require you to invest hours at a time are wasted on portables though.

I like my portable games to be engaging, but playable over 15 minute segments and polished. Pokemon, Gran Turismo and Mario Kart are ideal for me, but I find that the level of quality in Pokemon games has been on a decline since the Gameboy versions.

I'm probably done with handheld gaming now with the DS and PSP. There are a lot of great games, but I feel the handheld market is becoming a mirror of the console market, and I'd rather just play console games. It's just that I find my favorite handheld franchises have not evolved since their American debuts (Pokemon, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Picross, and Golden Sun), and that not as much innovation is comming to the handheld market as there used to be. I also find it really annoying that only half of the Fire Emblem titles ever make it outside of Japan. Also with the 3DS costing $250.... It's just not worth it.

On the DS, the only innovative and new game I played was Brain Age, and $250 for a 3DS to play a few games like that just isn't worth it to me.

I'm looking into getting an android phone and running a GBA emulator. I own a lot of GBA games and older I have yet to complete, and some I would enjoy re-playing. If I can play them off my phone, I'll be more likely to play them. Number 1 on my list is Final Fantasy VI, then the Donkey Kong Countries. Also the Xveria Play plays PS1 games, and I think someday they will make one that plays PSP games. To me thats enough.

Simple on the surface but hella complicated if you wanted to.

Rotation battle is tricky. You can bluff :)

I actually prefer games like God Of War, but I'll play the for 15-20 minutes at a time, and put the PSP back down, I can't play it for long stints like my consoles or PC (I think its the design), but I still enjoy the pick up and play attitude to games like Angry Birds, so I voted for that option

You get what you pay for. Those cheap games will amuse you for a few minutes, but its hardly the same experience as say a high end DS or PSP game.
