Why do you assume I was trying to "win" anything?  I'm trying to get people to understand what shaders are.  The purpose of conversation is not to win, it's to exchange thoughts, ideas, and information.



I thought by now you would realize the wii doesn't have shaders but uses clever programming to achieve shader like effects. Oh well.
I have enjoyed the discussion in this thread though.



 

 

OK, this is the last time I will attempt to explain this. In computer graphics, the definition of a shader is a set of instructions that runs on a GPU to produce an effect. In what way does a set of TEV operations not meet that definition?

 that's the point, they both use different instructions, one is shader and the other is TEV, but they both achive similar effects. This is what I've been saying all along, and for this very reason it's wrong to say the wii supports shader because the wii only supports TEV, however its not wrong to say that the wii can achive similar effect to shaders using it's TEV stages.

You only seemed to mention Medal of Honor. I've spent tons of time online with my Wii play Guitar Hero III. I've had no lag issues and you DO NOT NEED FRIEND CODES. they have a system set up so you can add friend codes if you wish to keep playing the same people but it isnt necessary at all and you can still have access to everything the game offers with out the codes.

Also doesnt Mario Chargers (or strikers, i cant remember) have a decent online system. I havnt played this one, only heard.

So there is 3 games now anyway instead of just the one you guys kept mentioning.
