Someone needs to redo this picture

But with the 3ds and have both guys crying with the caption, it loses money, you could have the cash burning in the background a well

Somebody's a Nintendo hater. It may sell terribly (not counting on that), but it won't lose money.

That's Sony's area of expertise, :P.

On topic, I find it ridiculous that, right after the disasters, everything but the 3DS is well outperforming expectations and that the 3DS appears to be collapsing. Makes no sense.

That is because the disaster is not the reason for the 3DS' declining sales.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Never hurts to put that there. Just saying.

And it may or may not be, but the more confusing part is that everything else, even the Wii, is doing unusually well.

I know it isn't because why would it only affect the 3DS?

If the disaster was effecting sales like that it would also affect the Wii, PS3, DS and PSP and clearly that doesn't seem to be the case.

I don't think people thought :

"Shit man, I was going to get a 3DS this week but that Tsunami ruined my plans."

"Yeah, same here bro. Getting a PS3 now?"

"Yup."

However, that could be the case though. "It only does everything"

I was directly referring my original statement, which started with "I find it ridiculous that...", :P. So there.

I just mean that it's obvious everything one says is it's opinion. Half of the post here would be about fixing other people's post by adding "imo" if everybody were to do it. You must not feed it or it will spread. That's why I call it a poison.

Naw, but you see, it has affected sales of other consoles. Except in a positive way.

This could easily be explained, though, since people who had their consoles destroyed may have been able to replace them through insurance and whatnot, but were unable to fork out the money to buy a brand new console after the crisis.

I myself find this a rather unlikely scenario, though, :P.

Boutros - But that wasn't necessarily implied. The way he said it made it sound like a fact. It's a poison, I know, but there are tons of times when you're also stating facts on this site and there needs to be a differentiation.

Okay so the PSP is already outselling the 3DS?

Crow eaten. I'm very surprised.

Excellent PS3 numbers too. And congrats to the Wii for getting back above 10k.

Chris1964 over on gaf has compiled data comparing the PS2, GBA, and 3DS launch windows, as all were launched in the beginning of the year:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=26812104&postcount=179

Relevant data so far:

PS2:

| 10 | 630.552| 630.552|
| 11 | 154.245| 784.797|
| 12 | 71.780| 856.577|
| 13 | 112.620| 969.197|
| 14 | 165.685| 1.134.882|

GBA:

| 12 | 611.504| 611.504|
| 13 | 323.686| 935.190|
| 14 | 197.421| 1.132.611|

3DS:

| 9 | 371.326| 371.326|
| 10 | 206.087| 577.413|
| 11 | 104.412| 681.825|

So the 3DS is about 200k behind the PS2 and 450k behind the GBA after three weeks, and the PS2 got a nice boost over its 4th, 5th, and 6th weeks (70k > 160k) as supply became more readily available.  The 3DS suffers from no such constraints.
