ha, so you would rather have to push down, down, left, up, x, a, b, b or whatever for some move than have to push one button to do it?   or however the street fighter game works.

i love when controls get EASIER 'hardcore' people complain.

everything in life that we own and use we hope for it to be easy to use and do what we want.  engineers, designers, ect all work to make things easy for people and here you 'hardcore' people are compliaing that something is easy now.

hey how about you go back to using a slide calculator or other thigns,  they are much more elite than todays calculators.

Yes. Successfully landing an Ultra, and then watching your opponent get devastated by it just isn't satisfying when you can do it with a single tap of a finger.

I'm not complaining that it imbalances the game, because I hardly ever play online. I just hope there was some kind of 'middle ground' between trying to nail an insanely long button combination, that I find nigh impossible to pull off on anything other than a fight stick, and a single motion of a finger, that gives you absolutely no sense of reward or accomplishment.

But that's just me. If you're perfectly happy with the game, I'm glad for you.

i don't have the game, just absed on past experiences in fighter games.  Take dbz tenkaichi 3 for example.  i can't play with any of my friends on that game becuase the learning curve is too steep that they just suck ass

If it is true that 3ds does improve ones 3d vision in real life, that will be a kicker

So i finally got to try out a 3DS today via the display at my local target.  I basically have 3 thoughts on it.

1. 3D is indeed awesome.  I start playing (pilotwings btw) in 2D just so I could better gauge the difference and wow does it look better/cooler.

2. I got really nauseous playing.  Things were fine when i was actually in the sweetspot but i fell out of it quite a bit...and once you are outside of that sweetspot the time it takes to feel sick is really short.  I'm the kind of gamer that moves his controller around even thought it doesn't help so I guess it's my fault.  I can't see myself being able to play in 3D much if ever if i decide to buy one which is disappointing.

3. the analog nub felt really good.  way better than the psp nub.

overall, not unimpressed but not impressed either.

Thats the right way to play games! Im also guessing thats where the idea of motion controls first came up for any device

I'm loving it so far. I enjoyed the AR cards and faceraiders. I loved those demos. I just got bust a move because it was the cheapest game. I could defenity see the 3D effects. I also loved the layer of depth,So I had no problem with the 3D. There's not that many 3DS games right now,but I expected that and it plays the DS games. So,I'm happy with my purchase and plan on getting alot of games for it.

Being a journalist, I should have many words.

Its good. Graphics are amazing, the 3D works, and its not too intrusive (a good thing), but if I had any concern, its that the pixels stretch/appear stretched when 3D is on. I hope that gets fixed, or perhaps its just worse with SSF4, I don't know.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

5. What's the deal with the charger cradle? Can't you just use the charger like normal and get the same result or am I missing something?

Yes, regular charging will work just fine. The cradle is for convinience, just pop it in whenever you are not gaming.

If you do play online you can choose whether you wish to face touch screen opponents or not, which is nice.

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

I saw my classmates playing face raider at lunch and was impressed in the 3DS ability to make the game look 3D when I was looking at the game over my classmate shoulder a good 1-2 feet away. When I got to hold it in front, I needed more time adjusting the 3D. I think the depth slider might be used for the distance your face is away from the 3DS because I put the device, with 3D slider at max, half a foot - foot away from my face when i had trouble seeing it but I had no trouble seeing it instantly (if I look directly a the screen) few feets away from my classmate who was holding it a half a foot- foot away from his face too. This might contribute to the fact that I was looking at the game's title screen though besides the actual gameplay, which is what I saw from my classmate. The 3D gives the feeling like I'm looking at a window sort of far away. It looks very comparable to cross eye 3D but the images can move and seems farther away which is disappointing. And I have to admit face raider kind of freaked me out when I saw someone playing it because the very first impression of 3D was a little startling.
