I saw my classmates playing face raider at lunch and was impressed in the 3DS ability to make the game look 3D when I was looking at the game over my classmate shoulder a good 1-2 feet away. When I got to hold it in front, I needed more time adjusting the 3D. I think the depth slider might be used for the distance your face is away from the 3DS because I put the device, with 3D slider at max, half a foot - foot away from my face when i had trouble seeing it but I had no trouble seeing it instantly (if I look directly a the screen) few feets away from my classmate who was holding it a half a foot- foot away from his face too. This might contribute to the fact that I was looking at the game's title screen though besides the actual gameplay, which is what I saw from my classmate. The 3D gives the feeling like I'm looking at a window sort of far away. It looks very comparable to cross eye 3D but the images can move and seems farther away which is disappointing. And I have to admit face raider kind of freaked me out when I saw someone playing it because the very first impression of 3D was a little startling.
