My favorite part of Grandia is the absolute diversity between Main Characters.
Grandia: Justin is very happy and upbeat, extremely positive but never to the point of driving the play crazy.
Grandia 2: Ryudo is one moody guy and it is done extremely well (some of the best one liners in all of Video game history, definitely up there with Duke Nukem)
This gen for RPGs tho?
Persona Persona Persona. Still the best RPG (besides Demon's Souls if you consider it one) released this gen. If you like Anime at all you will LOVE Persona 3 and 4. Which one is better? That is completely up to you, but you should play them both.
Eternal Sonata: Is one very special game. Beautiful and Depressing, I wish I had a dream like that.
