Forums - Sony - Final Fantasy Versus exclusivity ... does it matter anymore ?

I don't think anyone gives a toss anymore. FF13 was a game with a very mixed reception - which sold well based on the success of the FF series. its unlikely a spin off can do 5 mil imo. and its taken too long to come out.

and Square Enix have been facing financial woes; which resulted in a lowering of their revenue adjustments for the last quarter, and delaying Deus Ex until next quarter because they had no big release lined up. so i think based on that, they will let it to go multiplatform.

i think a few parties like Mircosoft will be interested in seeing it go multiplatform. but the 360 already has FF13, i dont think Microsoft are interested in a game that hasnt done much for their console. but Sony are probabily still interested in keeping it exclusive.

I like exclusives, mainly because I like to have a set amount of reasons to be buy a console (PS3 for GOW, 360 for Halo).

Though, overall, I don't think Versus is going to have a significant impact on any specific console and it being multi-platform wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Kinda matters to me. I would buy it new if it goes to 360 however I would just rent it if it was PS3 exclusive.

I'm trying to understand the logic behind that... O_o

Me too... :|

Please do explain I'm intrigued

Some would do same as him if say Gears Of War 3 goes multiplat. Some would buy it new on PS3, but only rent if it was 360 exclusive.

Its a matter of console loyalty, if you are loyal to PS brand you will sacrifice enjoyment for that brand and take upon burdens to prove your loyalty towards the great PS brand (or any such brand one wishes to display unwavering loyalty to). More loyalty proven = bigger e-peen = bigger respect on gaming forums where no girls post.

You think its easy to be loyal to a brand? It is not easy at all, there is a constant struggle present between who is the most loyal, there are constant temptations to give in to the evil systems and their exclusives.

For SinZinDetta it is a matter of loyalty to the XBAWX brand, I can't fault him for that. His love for XBAWX is true that much we can tell here so can we really fault him for this unconditional display of loyalty?

Dude places more importance on getting all the achievements rather than just breezing through the game since he doesn't want trophies... that's my take!

or he likes his xbox more lol and prefers his games on there.

Or he doesn't like to support company x with his cash.

If i bought ToV for X360 I'd also try to get it used to show how much i appreciate their localisation "efforts" or Alan Wake I'd make sure I'm getting second hand copy as my token of gratitude for cancelled pc version.

Way to much thought is going into this.  Id watch out or your minds might Assplode.

Yes, it's matter.

I want to see what FFXIII lost going to multiplataform.

It only matters to people planning to get it on PS3. If it goes Multiplat, it will add a Year or more onto dev time.

If wont matter to 360 fans, because we already know that the 360 is the RPG console of choice this generation.
