I have KZ3

I haven't payed much attention to the animations in Crysis 2 so I can't really comment on them but the explosions look absolutely fantastic in both games imo.

KZ3 really impressed me with its graphics and the videos of Crysis 2 are impressing me just as much so far.

well crysis 2 is obviously a looker no doubt. but you cant tell from small screen videos as its not a reflection of what you will see on your tv set. il be getting C2 further down the line but as of now killzone 3 on my plasma i use looks much apart from everything else, ive just gotten past the part where you use the mech and damn that was impressive. if i had a proper way to capture all that i would do to share on here but people will have to make thier own minds up end of the day.

i dont think explosions and animating will be much different in multiplayer to singleplayer, thats just my impression from demo i played the gunplay was horrible i ighly doubt they can change that in final game.

Im taking a psychological approach to this. As i see it its xbox fans who try to take sly jabs at ps3 exclusive graphics with this game. They wont look left or right at ps3 exclusives and admit they look good (literally some people in this forum). In order to remain asertive that their console isn't inferior they attempt to ignorantly hype a game.(in this case the graphics in this game)

My take in Crysis 2: The best lighting i have seen so far. Im beginning to think Crytek is right that the demos (atleast the PS3) is an old build. I say graphics are definitely up there with the best multiplat games ( IMO BFBC2 and MoH had the best so far) and it seems to match KZ2 or better but i wouldn't put it up there with KZ3, or even U2 (stritly graphics). On other notes, such as tech, Explosions look good and probably better than anything i have seen. There are some new takes that i havent seen before, like the slide and shoot (maybe i have , can't remember). But i havent seen anything of high factor that separates this from other shooters in terms of gameplay. (maybe it could have used iconic guns or something, Hint: Chimeras). I hope storytelling is good, because i worry only graphics gets discussed.

Yeah like I said I will wait for my final judgement until I can actually get my hands on Crysis 2 and play it myself.

I'm not hyped either. kinda think the game sucks....

I've lost most of my excitment for this game

I played the first one on PC, but everything I've read/heard about the sequel seems to indicate that they've completely changed the game and turned it into some kind of generic shooter

I'll wait for a few  reviews but it's likely that I won't buy this game

From what I have seen from the videos and I even thought the demo had better lighting and textures than Killzone 3. In killzone 3 I found that a lot of walls have really low res textures. The water in Crysis 2 destroys killzone 3. In KZ3 the water does have ripples but you can see the pixels in them and also when you shoot the water just has a crappy little water splash thing. In crysis when you shoot the water not only does it ripple but it reacts and looks like its more physics based. KZ3 has some great looking scenes but it also has a crap ton of aliasing. So I say yes we wait for the final build but I don't think killzone 3 should have the graphics crown from God of war 3 or uncharted 2 hell I don't think it beats killzone 2. I think Killzone 2 looks better in my opinion.  So I'm sure I will get shit on by ps3 fans but I basically study a game when I get it. I am a graphics whore. So far from videos Crysis looks better to me. As to which verison I don' t know I am trying to figure out which one to get. I have all three, pc, ps3, 360. I know the pc will look better but I am a console gamer at heart so its kinda between the ps3 and 360. So i might not buy it on launch day just to wait and see to find out which verison truly is the best.

I agree with some of your points. Killzone 3 was pretty from far away but when you get up close to objects you see they aren't as good looking as you thought. For example the lilly pads in the water in the jungle in campaign looked pixelated and were just a texture map on the water and not free floating objects. There were parts in the game where the textures are super low res. Textures on the barrels in mp are especially bad. Also in Blood Gracht when you go up to the vines and plants on the wall they are super pixelated. Overall its still probably the best looking PS3 game. Uncharted 2 might possibly be a bit better. God of War 3 has sections where it looks amazing but Hera's character model is terrible and one of the worst I've seen in years in any game. Also Hephaestus (sp?) has terrible textures as well and the other females are just average character models. The lack of consistency keeps that from being the top in my opinion.

Judging from what I've seen from YouTube Crysis 2 looks better but I'll truly know in 36 hours when I have it in my console. I'm getting the 360 version. I think I'll fire up Uncharted 2 and Crysis 2 at the same time and compare.

Regardless if Crysis 2 is the best or not (which I think it will take the crown for now) I have no doubt Gears of War 3 and Uncharted 3 will be fighting for the top spot.

Crysis 2 is definitely more TECHNICALLY impressive than Killzone 3. I mean who doesn't agree with that? But Killzone and Uncharted have amazing settings and environments. Artstyle is the most important.
