VGchartz has to have the only online community (in my limited experience with Ign.com, gamespot.com, 1up.com)in which the majority of people aren't excited by this game.

Does a game have to look it has the "BEST GRAFIX EVAR" in order to get hyped over it?  No.

Hmm, now that I think about it.  All of the people on this site that keep bashing Crysis 2 seem to be avid PS3 fans....  Why don't you guys buy all 3 consoles and a good PC like myself so you can quit hating on games unfairly? 

What he said was silly, but your cheating. No one should say anything about anything until the game releases. This happens all the time with games and pre-releases and it's better to not dig yourself into a hole and get called out for it later. We don't need another Lair, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2 and Heavenly Sword situation.

OT: Also, I'll repeat again, the game isn't being hyped, it's actually pretty damn mellow and it's worrisome for such a big release.

The game is sub HD with poor AA. :/ Quite a difference with some PS3 exclusive like Uncharted 2, Killzone 3 or GoW III which have an amazing image quality. :/

But it's not that bad, nobody was expecting it to look better than the best PS3 exclusives. ^^ It still looks very good. ^^

I think you got your answer, it's all about whether the graphics are better then current ps3 exclusives. Nobody talks about the gameplay...

I don't have high hopes for the single player. I tried to get into Crysis 1 but I just found it boring. Far cry was a lot more fun at the time. Now they moved it into enclosed spaces in a city like every other shooter on the market. That video is just a small area with a pretty sky box.

Maybe a review can still convince me that there is an interesting single player campaign in there with a good story. "Like most great First Person Shooters, Crysis 2 will not bring an interesting story, indeed, this is his main weakness." from that RageQuit link, sigh... Killzone 3 still managed to be enjoyable, despite the awful story, based on the variety of levels and gameplay. One small hope left for Crysis 2.

Because it looks fantastic in every way, including gameplay.





Just wow. Possibly and probably the best looking game on consoles.

Half a dozen on a pretty small video game website is pretty mellow. The larger sites aren't going crazy, the pre-orders are non existent in the games strongest territory, the games also catching a lot of flack from the people of the interwebz for one reason or another and overall, I can honestly say that the hype for Dead Space 2, MvC3, Killzone 3, Dragon Age 2 and DC Universe Online was much bigger, more positive and it was evenly leveled out through many sites and not a select few. Hell, I listen to like ten game related podcasts a week and none of them have even mentioned the games upcoming release and their actually in the industry.

I just played uncharted 2 nepal, I have to say Uncharted 2 looks better. Much much better and I can easily say there are some portions of Castlevania that look better too.
