Forums - Nintendo - Conduit 2: The Game Sony & Microsoft will envy not having on their console.

Conegamer said:

Perhaps. But what about the average consumer? I know plenty of people whi have said 'I'd get it if it wasn't on the Wii' for, not only this game, but plenty of others.

Sure, maybe Sony and MS won't be envious or whatever of not having the game, but some potential Sony customers might. Heck, it may, although HIGHLY unlikely, make someone decide to get a Wii!

again few, ok lets say few hundred even, people saying oh I would have tried it out if it were for HD also will NOT make any company envious. and let's be honest here for a sec, who in their right mind would choose to buy a wii OVER sony/ms console (which would be the only situation where they would care) for this game when games like Halo, COD, Battlefield, Killzone, Crysis, Resistance etc etc are available on those consoles? I mean really? I can see maybe a handful of ppl doing so WW but really? If they want the best FPS/TPS experiences they should and DOES go to MSony consoles

The Conduit was not good at all and 2 doesn't look any better than the first. Hell, HVS wished that they made Halo.

yep exactly, not a game that will hold a candle to the stuff available ps360 to be frank. But since Conduit 2 isn't out officially I couldn't state the same about the game but from what I have seen so far..meh round 2 from the looks of it

They could inplement  this game with Move controls

Why would they want a 75 game bound to be a financial bomb?

They'd be way more jealous of Nintendo's first party. Heck, they're more jelaous of Just Dance.

How would it be a financial bomb? It only costs a fraction of most of the games on the other systems. Bombs are more common on those as well. Plus selling well is the real measure of a game, not the reviews.

They don't have reason to really want the game, but your reasons why not are bogus.

i see your admitted improper responce and retract my jackass response.

but lolz -- wii's online is no where near psn or live.

wii's used to have a win in the controls column but now move (and maybe kinect??) leveled that playing field for the HD consoles.

but lolz at saying wii's online is anywhere near psn or live.  and yes graphics count -- it's addes to the immersion.  and like you said, that extra horse power can be put into greater scale which can in fact improve the gameplay.  it also can increase the player count which also improves the gameplay.  it improves the dynamic nature of the maps which again improves the gameplay.

there is a very good reason i started the gen as a wii/nintedo fanboy and switched.  the HD consoles are just improving games far too much to just sit around and wait for nintendo to catch up.

I just wrote in the case of Black Ops showing Wii online can be done well.

And immersion is from design, not detail. Immersion in gaming is imagination, not tricking you into thinking it's real. And I wrote that scale is not always used, and NOT the same as graphics. That's what the bolded part is. Lair proved that they are not the same.

immersion is about feeling connected to the game you are playing and doesn't come from design but from absolutely every aspect of the game.

bad voice acting, bad story, poor controls, lag, boring gameplay, repetitive gameplay, terrible music, poorly chosen sound effects, bad camera angles, and yes even bad graphics all can distract a gamer from keeping their focus on the game and break the immersion.

graphics is by no means the only thing that creates immersion but faced with this...

or this...

...the second screen is much more visually interesting and desirable to look at.

it's not about tricking the gamer into thinking its real, it's about giveing the gamer something beautiful enough to make it worth their time to keep watching.

from the way you just did and many other wii fans in general talk about graphics one would think you view graphics as something intended to re-create real life. well that's just wrong.  it's not just games attempting to be realistic that benefit from the higher level of detail, polycounts, resolutions offered by the HD consoles.  all games can benifit regardless of their respective chosen art styles.

The problem is that you are looking at a flashy image that is technically a cut scene versus a scene of actual gameplay.

Plus you are putting the details of the graphics over the artistry, which is something I've been calling on for years.

@lordtheknight  HDs have variety, its just that FPSs are shoved in our faces and i have to move those out the way to see, the "ar tonecli, Enslaveds, Castlevanias, etc. of the world. As for WiiWare and PSN, no way in hell is the Wii's online even close to to PSN. This is coming from a guy who has had Wii AND PS3 for 2 years. The WiiWare has made no improvement at all, while the PSN is a different service than what it was in the beginning. I have never had an issue with COD on PS3, ever. IMHO i think those PS3 complaints are coming from some anti PS3 elements. While i have heard some pretty bad things about the Wii version, like some maps not even showing up, luckily there were patches for it. Hell, i love GE but that thing freezes on me like 45% of the time. Dont mean to get into a rant, but thats the one thing that pisses me off about Ninty this gen, is the complete disregard for online. Its like they already made their money, screw the online.

Nope. I understand why wii only gamers would be excited for a fps game but the 360 and ps3 have enough  fps games as is. Doesn't look special either, so...

I agree you have to shove aside the FPS on those systems to get to the other stuff, same as the Wii unfortunately needs shoving aside the party games to get to the other stuff. Seems the DS and PSP have the most rounded libraries this gen.

As for online, I meant just playing online, not WiiWare or the other sale services. Plus I meant playing recently.

As for the Black Ops complaints, I don't think you were looking at the context of those, because those are angry at Activision and Treyarch, not Sony or the PS3.
