Forums - Gaming - River City Ransom 2 Coming This Summer!

Miracle Kidz announced today that it is developing Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari 2 for release as a home console title this summer and as a PC online title in 2012.

The original Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari was released for the Famicom in 1989. International releases followed under the names River City Ransom and Street Gangs.

The new version is being developed by staff members who worked on the original, but Miracle Kidz has also selected core players to take part in development.

Super Dodge Ball Set for WiiWare

Miracle Kidz shared screens and details today for Downtown Nekketsu Dodgeball, a WiiWare title that takes after Famicom title Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball Bu, which was released outside of Japan as Super Dodge Ball.

Downtown Nekketsu Dodgeball is meant to be an arrangement of that NES classic, with gameplay systems, AI and other areas updated for modern times.

As with the original, the goal is to smack opponents with the ball so hard that they fly off to heaven as angels. You make use of the d-pad and two buttons for all your actions.

You're able to control your own team in matches, or you can make use of an AI customization system where your team is automatically controlled, turning the game into a simulation.

Modes of play include tournament and match. Tournament puts one player (directly controlled or through AI) against the CPU. Match can be played 1P versus CPU or 1P VS 2P.

Have a look at Downtown Nekketsu Dodgeball below. The game hits WiiWare in May.

Sweet!   I'm really looking forward to the Super Dodgeball game: I sunk countless hours into the original, and while I'm sure it hasn't aged, I'd cheerfully pay WiiWare prices for the two or three hours I'll be sure to sink into it.

cool.

Also really liked Super Dogde Ball back in the days.

cant wait for 2.

Great news, was just thinking about River city ransom a few days ago.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

On the one hand.... awesome

On the otherhand.... what about the japanese only sequeal to River City Ransom that was set in Fuedal Japan.

Also the Japanese only sequel that was on the SNES.

I mean, unless this is a remake of one of them.... it's more River City Ransom 4 then anything.

Additionally, the fact that it's coming out for PC later then console makes me worried... doing River City Ransom right shouldn't take longer to do on PC.

I hope like hell they don't try and go 3-D and/or get rid of the kickass Kunio art style.
