Once you've done that, see how closely your work matches the actual context:
http://groups.google.com/group/soc.culture.african.american/msg/c8668bd3662b0fa5

I've finished reading, and I no longer care whether it was written by Paul or not. It is not a racist piece.

Here is the quote, with emphasis added by you:

Regardless of what the media tell us, most white Americans are not going to believe that they are at fault for what blacks have done to cities across America. The professional blacks may have cowed the elites, but good sense survives at the grass roots. Many more are going to have difficultly avoiding the belief that our country is being destroyed by a group of actual and potential terrorists -- and they can be identified by the color of their skin.

Aside from the first 95% of the piece preceding this quote, here's what the quote is missing, the very next sentence:

This conclusion may not be entirely fair, but it is, for many, entirely unavoidable.

You said that the author singled out blacks and said that they had done terrible things to cities across America. This is true, it's called the LA riots. Your next statement, that the author is saying that all blacks are terrorists or potential terrorists, is not true. The author is stating that many white people will come to this conclusion, which he calls unfair, based on what happened during the LA riots.

So, there's the context in which it isn't racist.

Yes, you got me on the "bad things = the riots, idiot!"

He doesn't call assuming all blacks are "actual and potential terrorists" "unfair", he calls it "maybe not entirely fair", and characterized the sentiment as "good sense".  Also, you haven't explained away "professional blacks [cowing] the elites".

Also:
A lady I know recently saw a
black couple in the supermarket with a cute little girl, three years old or
so. My friend waved to the tiny child, who scowled, stuck out her tongue,
and said (somewhat tautologically): "I hate you, white honkey." And the
parents were indulgent. Is any white child taught to hate in this way? I've
never heard of it. If a white child made such a remark to a black woman,
the parents would stop it with a reprimand or a spank.
But this is normal, and in fact benign, compared to much of the
anti-white ideology in the thoroughly racist black community.

...
The cause of the riots is plain: barbarism. If the barbarians cannot
loot sufficiently through legal channels (i.e., the riots being the
welfare-state minus the middleman), they resort to illegal ones, to
terrorism.
...
The rioters said they were acting out their frustration over the
acquittal of four L.A. policemen accused of using excessive force when
arresting Rodney G. King, but in fact, they were looking for an excuse to
kill, burn, and loot.

"As it turns out, not only have Republicans (starting with Reagan) increased the debt more (way more) than [edit: Democrats] -- they've increased spending more too! LAWL."

Firstly, a little redundant. Of course the debt went up while spending increased. There is something of a cause and effect there.

Not at all. (Except for my little mistake there -- whoops!) The debt could have gone up merely because of Republican tax cuts with no increase in spending. But they simultaneously increased spending -- very irresponsible.

Secondly, try putting a similar chart together but rather then breaking it down by party in the White House, try breaking it down by party in control of Congress. You see, there's this itty bitty role Congress plays when it comes to passing spending bills. Or would that not help your point?

Well, it's true that Reagan had to fight a Democratic House (with the help of a Republican Senate) -- but Bush had a Republican rubber stamp in both houses and he increased spending dramatically.
Year (Senate, House)
77-79 (D, D)
79-81 (D, D)
81-83 (R, D)
83-85 (R, D)
85-87 (R, D)
87-89 (D, D)
89-91 (D, D)
91-93 (D, D)
93-95 (D, D)
95-97 (R, R)
97-99 (R, R)
99-01 (R, R)
01-03 (tie*, R)
03-05 (R, R)
05-07 (R, R)
07-09 (tie**, D)
*until formerly Republican Jeffords went Independent
**but the Independents like the Democrats better

As you can see, there is still a strong correlation.

P.S. Thanks for all the sarcasm. I've noticed it before. Does it make you feel big, or is it just to help you avoid doing work like putting the table together by your own damn self?

This is not racism.  Racism is hate of a particular group of people based on their race.  This author is not saying that black people are evil because they are black.  He's saying that blacks (and not all blacks) are barbaric based upon observations of the riots and statistical evidence.  I don't agree with him in terms of how far he's gone with this idea, or in his interpretation of said statistics (you need to take other factors into account), but hell, if this were 15 years ago, and I were watching the LA riots happening on TV?  Or watching them happen down the street?

He (or whoever) said that the black community is "thoroughly racist", and that a three-year-old being indoctrinated to say "I hate you, white honkey" is BENIGN compared to "much" of the indoctrination in that community, and implied that it is "good sense" to believe that black people are "actual or potential terrorists" who are destroying our country.

You want to know what's racist?

Not long after this incident, King was found trying to pick up a transvestite prostitute, and when caught, tried to run over the cops who intervened. He was not arrested.

That's racist.

The blacks started to attack cars driven by whites and light-skinned Hispanics with crowbars, rocks, bottles, and even a metal traffic sign. At the last minute, some police officers rescued a woman abandoned in her car and were pelted by rocks as they left.

That's racist.

At 6:45, a white man was dragged from a delivery truck and thrown to the ground and beaten, as black assailants yelled, "That's how Rodney King felt, white boy!"

That's racist.

Another white truck driver, Reginald O. Denny, pulled into the area and five blacks beat him nearly to death. One threw a fire extinguisher at his head as he lay unconscious, breaking nearly every bone in his face.

That's racist.

Several days after the violence ended, we learned that there would have been blacks on the King jury--if the NAACP hadn't engaged in jury tampering by telling potential black jurors that it was their racial duty
to convict the cops. The blacks admitted this to defense lawyers, and were rightly excluded from jury. This is a serious crime, but the NAACP will not be prosecuted.

Imagine the irony. Blacks have whined endlessly that letting the cops off was "all white" (even though the jury included an Hispanic and an Asian). But it was the leading "civil rights" organization that is at fault for this.

And that is especially racist.

Do you see the difference?

Also, he did not imply that it is good sense to believe that black people are actual or potential terrorists.  Read it again.  He stated that it is good sense for whites not to believe that they are at fault for what blacks had done to our cities.  The next two words, "many more", indicate that he is now referring to a different set of people, who will reach the not entirely fair conclusion that blacks are potential terrorists.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

George Bush FTW!!!
The world needs a dumb American in power of a country with nukes to make the world laugh at his antics.

Whoever wins the presidency won't make much of a difference. In the end those that are elected are merely pawns for the powerful people that work behind the scenes.
