If PS3 really is going to surpass 360 i think this is the year it will happen. With all of the games coming out that will likely profti I'm sure that Sony might consider dropping the price of the ps3.

It'll depend on price cuts and bundled games mostly. Xbox 360 pretty much owned the PS3 last year during the holidays and that could easily happen again this year. I'm expected a price cut announcement from Microsoft at the E3 though. Sony will probably follow suit soon after. A $150 360 Arcade Slim will sell like crazy, even moreso if Microsoft finally decides to put a real HDD in it. With a Kinect price cut as well, they are going to move a lot of systems this holiday. I don't the PS3 catching up until after the next-gen of consoles starts.

Pretty much owned? Compare the Kinect boost in the graph with the massive eat away caused by the slim. What would you call it then?

i have to give props to Microsoft for stopping the declining sales thanks to kinect.

i predict it will outsell it by Q4 2012

I doubt they can especially when they drop the price for that model, as the prices for the smallest manufactured HDDs are pretty constant. Right now thats 160/250/320 (they all have nearly the same price) for normal (ofc there are smaller "special use" HDDs)  HDDs and that's what the premium model uses .. a (for example) 40GB HDD right now would cost MS more than one of those.

Okay. The 360 tied with the PS3 on the Quarter that Kinect was released.

Why does that matter, when the PS3 outsold the 360 for the whole Year total?

PS3, coupled with a price cut and mass market price of $200.  It effectively will outsell the 360 for essentially the remainder of it's life cycle too.
